Your beautiful machining will be missed.  Unfortunately you have no option for top mounting a laser range finder.  Your beautiful lines will be replaced with the Evil LT 845.

Before:

After:

Now I'm waiting on my RAP mount for the unimount on my other 6.5.  By the end of the week it should have a Radius as well!

ETA: So I thought a few of you might be wondering "why would he want to top mount his range finder?"  That question really comes back to beam divergence and the way range finders work.  The radius has a beam divergence of .5mrad x 1.85mrad.  I want the wider divergence in the horizontal plane for more consistent and useable performance.

At distance it should look like this:

This article at the Precision Rifle Blog covers quite a bit of how range finders work.
http://precisionrifleblog.com/2013/10/29/how-do-rangefinders-work/

ETA 2:
Got my NightForce RAP mount and my second Radius in. Set it up on my backup rifle and aligned the range finder this afternoon.

I actually run a home for unwanted G products, I'll PM my address. It's expensive and irritates my neighbors, but I hate to see Super Precise products live out the rest of their long lives in a tool box or parts bin.

Maybe try adopting on the EE next time guy.

I'll cover shipping.

I could but putting it above means less issues with catching grass/obstructions with the range finder. It also keeps pretty much all offset in the verticle plane, no horizontal offset in your ranging.

I need to figure out which way the emitter is biased. It emits a .5mrad x 1.85mrad beam at 905nm. Might be useable in scan as a laser aiming point but it's a bit slow.

If it works for you that's all that matters.

I'd have either extended the bottom pic rail and mounted it in front of the bipod, or got a pic riser so the scope can see over the laser.

Did you try mounting it in front of the scope and see if it showed up in the scope? When something is mounted close to a scope, it doesn't take much for the scope to 'see over' it.

Nah, drill and tap an Uncle Mikes 10/22 rail section to the Geissele mount.

Back on topic though:

Why is it so critical to have the rangefinder mounted above the scope? Wouldn't it work just as well on the side?

OP seems to have reinvented the wheel. No matter where you place it you're going to have offset. Placing it on top of the scope instead of the rail? Lol.

Is this statement based off of your own experience?

I've got both LaRue and Geissele mounts, both for magnified optics as well as for Aimpoint micros. I love them both and my experience has been that the LaRue RTZ is as advertised.

Actually yes, I had a bad experience with a couple, specifically an LT660 which lost its zero on a rifle between TX and MS. I got back to realize just barely pressing on the side of optic would shift it, and it would not return to the same place. I replaced them for bobro as that specific role required a QD mount. Not a fan of something that has to or can be adjusted- inevitably enough adjustments on your rifle will result in at least one out of adjustment when you depend on it to be perfect. Removed another variable. I also had an LT105(?), which, also had adjustments that needed to be maintained. Those did not need QD and were replaced with a combination of Spuhr and Geissele.

If you have an issue with return to zero you will be asked to simply look at the manual.

I find the radius to be at a kind of strange middle ground.  Tech is changing so quick that it was probably a cool niche for sico to get into but I can't imagine people will be willing to strap a pound to the top of the scope for much longer.  I found when top mounted that the rifle as a whole felt top heavy when trying to make minor cant adjustments which I would assume you concern yourself with seeing the two bubble levels.  I have had bushnell arc 1 mile binos for a couple years now and the multi role seems to work better for me.  I feel like I am getting a much more precise range as I don't fear having the aiming point off a cunt hair giving me a reading 100+ meters off.  I have been impressed with my super mount and can't put my finger on a thing I don't like.  I also really like bobro, spuhr and adm has been fantastic to me every time I have dealt with them.  I would hope this is more than just a silly shill or troll post but the way you are responding makes me think otherwise.

I call it like I see it and enjoy cracking jokes

Geissele has a great mount. He doesn't use the most cost effective manufacturing techniques which does drive the cost up at times. He could manufacture a cheaper mount with the same quality and capability without serialized ring caps. And he could sell a matching ring cap like Nighforce does and I most likely would have bought it.

Larue on the other hand often times needs the levers tightened more than the instructions describe.  IMO they should have two locking levers on all their mounts (which the LT 845 has). I would like to see them make the levers a little longer as well so you could put more torque on them and still be finger tight. Personally I tighten to first lever contact around 60 degrees instead of 45 like the instructions state. Then I push test all my Larue mounts to make sure they're tight enough after 10 open/close cycles.

I don't like Bobro. It's non adjustable and both the Bobro mounts I had stopped holding zero after ~500 rounds. The recoil lugs shrunk to .206 and then the scopes moved around with every shot. I would try them again if they would a machined in full lug and a second spring lug. Upside of the spring lug is it does a good job pushing the scope to the same spot every time its mounted.

I would like to see the other manufacturers implement auto forwarding designs to increase RTZ capabilities.

It's a 26" Kreiger barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Only about 20 rounds down range so far  I really need more range time.

Glass is a Razor II 4.5-27 on the Kreiger build. The 24" Criterion behind it has a 4.5-30 XRS I picked up on sale about 2 years ago. I haven't shot with the Razor yet. Just got in a few weeks ago and then decided to add the Radius when I found it used.

I would like to do an RPR in the next year or so. I'm thinking I'll save the Super Precision mount for it.  I've also got a 5.56 build that needs good glass and I might use it their if I don't get an RPR.

I have the 4.5-27 on my 24 inch kreiger gun.  I have a 22 inch kreiger in 6.5 creedmoor as well.  I had the 4.5-30 xrs on a gap 6.5 bolt gun and it was a great scope.  A shame you can't get out to shoot them more.  I would have stuck with the geissele mount if you already had it and mount the radius on the left hand side or which ever your non-dominant is staring down.  Still not sure why the thread was worded the way it was when you could have talked about cool things rather than saltiness.

Great looking rifle America!

With the RTZ comment is that Larue's reply or was that about the Radius?

It is quite a bit of extra weight.  I haven't been weight conscious on this build at all.  I definitely want to keep it under the weight of a 240, but I'm more interested in soft shooting low recoil precision in a semi auto at this point.  It would be nice to see the weight drop to maybe half with the same capabilities.

I've heard great things about the Bushnell 1 mile series.  I'm using a Sig Kilo 2000 for my hand held range finder.  Are you tripod mounting to help with stability when range finding?  I read an article (IIRC on snipers hide) about testing your range finder to more accurately find the exact position it's ranging in your range finders reticle.  I've thought about taking the Radius out with my night vision and seeing how far apart the visible red laser is from the IR range finders laser.

I would like to see G offer a QD system.  If anyone can design a great QD mount, I think they could.  I heard Spuhr is coming out with QD mounts.  I haven't seen how they work yet.  For now I have a range toolkit that includes a 65 in/lb torque limiter for quickly re-installing my Geissele and NF mounts.

So, basically, you want to remove the optic from your "precision" rifle and reinstall it -- and you think that there's going to be no loss of zero. I don't think that word means what you think it means. If you're shooting far enough that you need a laser rangefinder, you probably don't want to touch anything, but I may be wrong, I'm not in your head.

On that note, has anyone ever seen one of these "removable mounts" that LaRue, ADM, BoPro, GG&G, Warne, Nightforce, or whoever else makes them tested at 500m? There has to be tolerance stacking, even at 100m that just aren't noticeable because the angle is too small to detect.

I expect minimum change.  Around .1 to .2 MOA.

I don't take these off all the time.  My primary reason for swapping mounts was for the above scope range finder mount.
