| My satellite radio stopped working. It shows an aquiring signal message 100% of the time. Its the same message i would get going under bridges before. It did it on and off for a couple days then just completely stopped working. I tried pulling the fuse for a while, a factory reset, refreshing the signal with sirius, nothing worked. In the troubleshooting guide it says check the antennae. The antennae itself looks fine, last thing i can think of is its defective inside or has a bad connection. Anybody else have this issue? Im about 9k miles past my 36k bumper to bumper warranty. |
| It shouldn't be too hard to pull your head unit and make sure the connection is secure. That's going to be the easiest thing. Anything past that and you probably have a broken connection or wire somewhere. Unless it receives updates via the network and an update bricked it? |

I've had two vehicles with the 8.4 in the past 18 months. Both vehicles had the entire 8.4 unit replaced for different issues (under warranty). I'd hate to guess what that thing would cost. They wanted $600 just to add Navigation to one of them. I was told it is over $3500 which is why I opted for the extended bumper to bumper warranty on mine. I don't trust any electronics. |

| I would guess it's the antenna. I would pull the unit to check the connection. In Ram trucks, the antenna box is under the dash on the passenger side. You have to remove the glove box. A new antenna unit isn't that expensive. I would call the dealer or FCA corporate since your just out of warranty. |

Yeah, subscription is good. It even tells me in the radio setting the subscription is active. Navigation, 3g connection and all the other stuff works fine so on second thought i dont think it could be the antennae. Call surius and have them send a signal to your unit. Also, if you don't have Sirius traffic on your unit you have the "lite navi" added by the dealer. The lite navi doesn't do live traffic. |

OP, when I had installed Sirius/XM in my Maxima it did the same thing and gave me an acquiring signal error. I called Sirius and they sent the radio activation code... it didn't work. I went online and went to their troubleshooting page and clicked the button to send the activation code and it worked that time.
Hope that's all it is and it's not the antennae or radio. |
