| Why the hell hasn't a developer come out with an updated Mechwarior 3 or 4? Mechwarrior Online is fine if you are into the online multi player thing, but I want good single player campaigns with modern graphics. |

A new singleplayer MW was recently announced.
Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries I would like another mech commander too but MW4 Mercs is probably my favorite game in the series... although 2 and 3 were also great. 3 seems to have extreme compatability issues with modern conputers. |

Meh.. I am more of an Armored Core guy.
If I remember correctly the characteristics and armaments are customization but the basic design of your mech is not. I wish they would combine aspects of both. So all aspects are changeable and include boost/ jump rockets. |

Whatever dude PGI worked with Weisman to get the dormant IP out from under Microsoft freeing it up for the first time id decades, make a long running online MW game, BRING BACK THE UNSEEN MECHS, enable HBS to co develop their game with said unseen art not to mention catalyst, and are now going to make a single player MW5:mercs... Oh but they're "fucking the corpse" LOL whatever dude, the shit you're lauding wouldn't exist if if wasn't for PGI. |

If their devs don't have at least a single GTX 1080 I pity them.

I've owned every MechWarrior since 2, a 20+ year fan, and PGI labeled me a bittervet because I asked questions about why features weren't coming out in a timely fashion, even simple ones that could make the game much more enjoyable. eta- for those not in the know, the game had a publisher that took all the money PGI made, and wouldn't let them do anything with the game to support what they promised. PGI saved what money they could and bought out the publisher to the rights for the game, and only then did they have money and freedom to get what they promised done, and started delivering on it. Guys like Kharn are stuck on all the IGP era BS which inhibits them actually appreciating there's a modern MW title at all, then they turn around lauding the other battletech games and things that are ONLY doing well because the content PGI secured. No PGI, no HBS Battletech. PGI was the forerunner in breaking the IP deadlock with Microsoft with the owner of HBS, they were the lead in breaking hte FASA stranglehold on the "unseen" mechs. But "boo hoo the forums weren't nice to me asking questions" and it's "mwo is a p2w hell!"
Worst part of the game has always been the negative as fuck player base. Can't wait for the single player so there's no bittervets to put up with LOL. |

Alpha is alpha and a lot of things are likely to change. |

If they don't at least have a dual 1080 rig in the house to showcase, I pity those poor ass devs. It is possible they have higher res textures and scaled them down for the alpha. As I mentioned before, if you start low-res, the texture artists have to go back and do everything all over again. I bet they design it's performance in mind for consoles and nothing higher res after it (and the game would quickly be forgotten when XBOX and others deliver 4K). I'd love to be wrong though. |
