What did you think of it?

Bob Crane was smarmy and annoying.
Just about everyone else was excellent. |
I appreciated it more when I learned of the individual character's backgrounds.
I enjoy the show. I'm in my thirties, without cable, so I watch the reruns.
I like it, but I've always been surprised at how light they take the nazi/POW angle. I thought it was a little weird, but I still like the show. |
I still watch it every night at 10pm with an antenna on one of the decimal digital channels.
I'm surprised no one's done a modern version. Instead of Nazis, make it an ISIS camp, with stupid ISIS guards.

I had not watched it in years but caught an episode the other day. Funny as always.
Like anything else Hollywood I take it for what it is and that is entertainment. Forgot about Richard Dawson being in it. |

My Uncle hated that show. He was a POW in Stalag IX-B at Bad Orb, Germany 1944-45.
He said that they would not have time to do anything other than trying not to starve to death and stay warm. Odd but only when that show came on was when he talked about his capture/captivity. That said as a kid at the time I enjoyed both the show and his stories. Two-fer. |

Loved Hochstetter
Hogan's Heroes scene with Maj. Hochstetter, Col. Klink and Sgt. Schultz |
It made the Nazis out to be bumbling idiots. So no, I don't have a problem with it.
Also, my name is Hogan. So after hearing approximately 8,700 jokes about Hogan's Heroes my vote should count twice. |
Loved watching re-runs back in the 80s.
Hard to watch anything with a laugh track anymore however. |
There's a Local TV station that shows re-runs most weekday nights at 10:30PM.
Some episodes were always better than others. |

The great thing is that most of the German Officers were played by Jews, not a few of which had suffered mistreatment at the hands of the Nazi's and were forced to emigrate.
Corporal LeBeau (Robert Clary) was also Jewish and spent some time in the camps. |
My son and I watch it on MeTV. Always enjoyed the show growing up.
One of my good friends looks and acts like Col Klink. And he speaks German. |
Satire often tends to be dark with that kind of subject matter. I think it's hilarious, but I can see how some people might take offense
As a kid I liked it a lot, and still do, every so often, I record it and still watch it.
When I was a kid I did ask my Great Uncle Jack if when he was a POW it was like Stalag 13. He laughed and said no, but he did talk a bit about it. |

A lot of the shows were loosely based on historical facts...

Back in the day I loved that show. Now a days I'm not sure I could sit through it.

My favorite episode had Carter playing the part of Hitler. It was just so well done.
One of my all time favorite shows. Wish I could pick it up on a channel somewhere.
