I have a regular LCP and have shot a II, honestly I prefer the regular with the heavier trigger for pocket carry.

This. I like mine. Be aware, it is not a striker fired gun. It has a hammer on it.

Very accurate and reliable.

Picked mine up 2 weeks ago and trigger pull was heavy out of box.  Sent to Ruger.  Back in a week.  They replaced...the everything.  Much improved but just received it back today so no range time to compare to LCP 1.  I run the LCP 1 with rubber Hogue and painted front sight.  Going to do the same to LCP II sight so it is easier to acquire.

I just bought the II last week. Great trigger, but I too think maybe could stand to be heavier or longer for pocket carry.

I plan on one of the "wallet" holsters.

+
Frame texture is good
Slide serrations are great
Slide lock is very nice to have
Wider frame makes it much nicer to shoot
Trigger pull is absolutely amazing compared to the original model and the reset is fairly short and obvious.
The trigger is fairly wide and flat, the safety is flat and flush with the trigger when depressed. Very comfortable.
Slide seems easy to manipulate especially with the aggressive slide serrations.
The included pocket holster is quite serviceable.

-
Front sight needs some paint to make it stand out, it's a bit small but that's what you get on a pocket pistol.
Mine is kinda cranky if I slingshot the slide on a reload, slide stop works 100% so I'm good with that for now. I'll get more rounds down range and reevaluate.

It's crazy small (G19 EDC) and I'm still getting used to shooting this micro pistol so I can't give you much accuracy evaluation. 8" plates at 5 yards was as challenging a target as I tried.

All in all I'm very pleased with it so far and glad I picked it up. I'll probably pick up a kydex pocket holster, the trigger has a moderate amount of weight to it but has a fairly short pull. Once you take out the slack (very light pressure required) there's not much travel to finish the pull. I'm just not personally a fan of soft holsters anyway and I'd feel better with a kydex holster with this trigger. Probably not necessary right away as the included holster is fairly stiff, for now at least.

I miss my LCP on a regular basis. Gave it away when I got my LC9s. Sometimes I miss the convienence of just sliding the smaller gun in my pocket.

My local gunstore wants $320 plus tax for one.  I think that is kinda high price for what it is....

Ive picked up an LCP II within the first week they came out and love it. It shoot very accurate and I don't have any issue shooting a couple boxes of ammo when I hit the range. I believe I paid $300 OTD.

I do not like pocket carrying so finding a IWB holster that keeps the gun up high enough to easily retrieve is a bit of a pain. So far that and the expensive magazines are the only downside.

Grip looks like Grip Zone.  Surprised XD haters haven't commented.  I love XDs, so I like the new LCP.

I've had mine about three weeks.  I like the trigger, slide lock on empty mag and more comfortable grip.  Shoots pretty accurate for a small pocket gun and the included pocket holster works fine.

Have you shot it yet, OP?

Does it fit in your pocket better than other small pistols?

Original LCP was the only gun I've ever sold.

Hated it. Period.

I liked the LCP Custom better than the LCP II.

I've shot my LCP II but 106 rounds at this point.  Somehow, Ruger took the same gun dimensionally and transformed it to be a much more shootable pocket pistol.  The recoil is much more manageable, and the sights are an upgrade without being an obtrusive snag (which is what prevented me from obtaining a Custom).  Slide lock back on empty is a godsend that I never even realized I missed with the LCP1.  The manageability of the pistol I think comes from the improved pull of the trigger.  Also, it doesn't seem to snap as much as the original for whatever reason.  Color me impressed.  No failures, though an admittedly small round count through mine thus far.

I refuse to buy a gun that was made wrong first just to suck up the extra sales of making it right second.

Nice. I'm really happy with my LCP. I shoot it well for the size so I don't mind the trigger
I'm missing out on the slide lock but I'll just live without it for now.

The best thing about the LCP2 is that it has drove down the price of the LCP. I bought one for myself and my wife for only $200 each.

Unless you can prove that was Ruger's intent, then you're just being an ass.

Is this your attitude any time improvements are made?

I want one, but if I buy one, I don't know what i'll do with my first gen LCP I have carried since 2012....I haven't been upset with the first gen original though, people whine about dumb shit. The horrible trigger was "the safety" and the low profile milled sights were snag proof. you don't even need sights on a pistol like this, it's for up close self defense...not target shooting or combat etc.

I just picked one up, gonna try it next weekend. My father acquired my original LCP, I like the new version so far.

I tried a Hogue on my LCP but ended up switching to a Talon stick on style which I like a lot better.  They make them for the LCP II already.
