Wife Unit decided we need to update our seldom used half-bath downstairs. Repainted, hung new towel rack, shit ticket dispenser, mirror, and the money shot ... a new Delta Faucet. The vanity is a small one, barely large enough for me to squeeze my massive melon in.
The plumbing is eons old, and the metal p-trap cracked, when I tried to back the nut off to replace the drain stopper unit. Off to Home Depot to get a new one. Got that fixed. Tried to reuse the water lines that run to the new faucet, but they leaked a little. Fortunately, I picked up a couple of flex hoses, for just such an emergency. No leaks now under the sink. Got the new faucet hooked up, gave it test run ... success, water came pouring out like cool mountain stream. Turned the handles off and sumbitch ... the new faucet drips, and drips, and drips. I was ready to have an aneurism. Crawling up under the vanity and tightening up all that crap on my back, with my neck feeling like a Chuck Norris karate chopped it, wedging my 200lb body into a space barely big enough for a beagle, and now it LEAKS. The faucet that was replaced was 20+ years old, (looked like shit but never dripped.) I guess I'm going to demand that the Home Depot manager give me a set of replacement cartridges. It'd be much easier than removing the whole faucet, and then re-installing a replacement. It just burns my ass that I spent $$$, the time and effort, and the ChiCom slave labor piece of shit drips. I hate Chinese JUNK. Thought it'd be better than Glacier Bay. They don't make'em like they used to I guess. |

You got a fluke. Lucky you dont deal with the US made (i think) T&S faucets that are in every restaurnt. Have to change washers and all kinds of fucking parts all the time while the delta shit in the restrooms had been working for 28 years.
T&S is a restaurant standard and sucks my asshole. 3 in the fucking morning. Why cant i fucking sleep? |
| Delta faucets are generally good faucets. Did you flush the new hot and cold supply lines out before you connected them to said new faucet? If not, that's your problem and why it drips. And to have a drip from the spout and a leak underneath well, that's your fault too. Your saving chance is to remove examine and clean the internals then reinstall to stop drip. The leak underneath is just lack of installation experience or improper parts. Good luck. Please read the faucets enclosed installation instructions. -CB |

I was told by someone in the business that the fixtures sold in box stores are of a lower quality than what you would get from a plumbing supply place.
Not sure how true that is. I have old plumbing and need to replace my vanity and fixtures as well. I've had poor luck from box store fixtures. |

| They are good with their warranties, even without a receipt. I bought a bronze color finish Delta faucet as I updated my bathroom as well but the finish/clear coat started flaking off which made the bronze finish start to erode. They sent me a new one years later. The only downside, the same problem is happening again in the same spot as the first-where the screw holes are on the handles. I am on city water and have been for quite some time. |

I have old plumbing and need to replace my vanity and fixtures as well. I've had poor luck from box store fixtures. The model # you get at Home Depot and the model # at the plumbing supply house is the same fixture in the box. What the supply house has that Home Depot probably doesn't is manufacturers commercial lines of fixtures and trim. The difference is heavier brass in fixtures, heavier chrome or brass plating and heavy duty parts. So next time you're googling for a part or fixture add the word "commercial" and see what comes up. -CB Delta commercial faucets |

The Delta sink faucets in my house all work great - the tub/shower faucets all suck ass though (they all start dripping after about three months of use).
I've lost count of how many times I have replaced the tub/shower faucets and they ALL continue to drip after a few months of use! |
| I used to work at a factory where we made delta faucets. at least we cast the parts, polished and chrome plated them... they were assembled elsewhere. around 2004 they started exporting stuff to china, and that us factory went 90% offline a few years later. I made it out a year before they shut down. |
