So my wifi keeps dropping devices specifically noticeable while streaming video. This just started a few weeks ago. Initially, I thought my modem/ router wasn't getting a decent signal from Comcast but if I move the a device within 10ft of the modem/ router it works fine. If I move to the next room 20ft away while viewing Netflix it will work for 1 to 2 mins and spool for 30 secs on two separate devices.

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be interference from the router's Broadcast Name. Turning this off (by unchecking "Enable SSID Broadcast" in the router's advanced settings) fixed my problem, but I had to connect my devices manually as network name no longer appears in the available network list. Hope this helps.

I have Dish Network with internet service....paying about $120 a month.

After a long while of trouble free service.......I started to have a problem with my service where the signal would drop off suddenly even though I was sitting right next to the modem.   Over the phone the tech said that they would "boost" the signal on his end.   It worked for a while.  But, about a month later........Off/On.....thirty mins or less was all I could get.

I called to complain many times and finally Centry Link sent their repair person.  Turns out that at the box outside where the connections are.....well, a "switch" was bad.  He replaced it and everything is GOOD AGAIN.

Just call the internet/cable company.  BTW...they gave me $10 off my internet/cable bill for the next 12 months.

Aloha, Mark

I spent hours Friday chatting with and talking to folks at Comcast. They claim the signal is fines.

What router are you using? How old? 2.4 or 5 GHz band? Is router multi band capable? What other devices are using the wifi when you are having issues? What channels are you using? What channels are your neighbors using?

Had a very similar issue on-again off-again for some time here recently, with a provider supplied modem, but one day it just stopped working wirelessly alltogether.
Called provider and they had my wife try a few things. She said that they were watching things on their end and when the tests were done the rep simply said that we had a bad unit. Received a new one in the mail the next day and it's been perfect since.

These provider supplied modems are pretty crappy imo, and if you've had it for a while, it wouldn't surprise me if the modem/router was just dying.
