This winter started early and a cold snap hit us around the first week of November and basically stayed.
The past few weeks local temps have mostly been in the minus 20's during the day and getting close to minus 30 at night (not factoring wind chill) Leaving work tonight the OAT was -16*C , just over half way home (26Km commute) the OAT gauge started changing every 10 seconds. By the time I hit the exit close to home the OAT was holding steady a -3*C. For those who have not experienced a Chinook it's very hard to explain how fast things can warm up in the dead of winter, even after Sundown. It really is a Godsend !!
