Looking for a new knife.

I've carried a Boker Magnum Auto for the past couple of years and I liked it more than I thought I would.

I want a nicer everyday carry and have been eyeing a Benchmade Stimulus Auto.

Is there any other knives I should consider?

Budget is $200.

I have a boker and a benchmade auto knife.

I still carry the cheaper boker because I truly like it more. Thinner more useful blade, sharpens easier although the edge does dull faster (obvious trade off). YMMV

I've carried a SOG Trident for about 5 years and it's a pretty decent knife for about $75.
The only thing I don't care for is the safety latch. That was easily cured though with a drop of super glue.

I've carried a Microtech SOCOM Elite for seven years.  I won't own another brand of auto knife.  I've had Benchmade and was disappointed. It's a little over your budget, but I bet you can find a gently used one or smaller version around your price point.

ZT0350. It's technically not an automatic, but it's easier to open than most automatics.

I actually switched over to it from automatics, because under just about any conditions, including gloves, it's much easier to flip open.

Try an assisted flipper for yourself,.

I just got a Kershaw auto for christmas.  This thing is awesome.  154CM and crazy sharp.  Opens with one button and no safety.

I carry this daily. It's a big knife but it carries well.

Benchmade AFO is the way to go. Go though GovX if you're police, mil, fire, etc. They're under $200 there

I would say benchmade

Carried one on me and in the jet for nearly ten years until the tsa dicksuckers stole it from my checked bags- I hope they cut off their dick with it.
Got another one, the tanto style but reground it. I use t all the time.

I've broken/bent 3 of the clips-they get hung up in flight gear. Everytime I call and they send a new clip.  I broke a early model that was nylon??? They replaced it.

I want one, but don't know why beyond "cool".

Modern "bump" knives are pretty "auto" to me.

Any redeeming features beyond being cool?

I find the locks on socoms to be rubish.  give the blade a thwack and they fail really often.   My favorite knife is a dual action microtech socom but it s not a tough knife.  I would take a benchmade afo over it any day or an axis auto knife

I got a M/T UTX 85 from The Hollow Grind for under $200, and I love it. I've EDC'd Ultratechs for years, but the smaller single edge blade of the UTX 85 is much better for my needs. It really is the perfect size.

Perhaps check out HK auto knives also. Well priced. They used to be manufactured by Benchmade. Quality is good from my experience.

The Minion OTF automatic is the mini version of the Concord OTF from AKC. This Italian made knife is built with a double-action, out-the-front mechanism activated using the front-mounted firing button. These knives are geared toward light use, and come in a wide variety of finishes, colors, and patterns for the collector.

I think the part in bold tells us enough...probably fine for opening mail and sharpening pencils, but I wouldn't push it much further.

The Benchmade Serum 5400 has the same auto mechanism (pull back the Axis lock to fire) but is a much more reasonably sized knife for EDC.

Here's mine

They can be had on Amazon for $216

I came here to post this.
I bought one recently, and it's become my EDC knife .
Made in USA and quite a bit cheaper than the others.

Unless you have a really specific need for an auto, I think they are unnecessary, and in some ways inferior to quality manual knives. I can deploy my Benchmade Axis locks just as fast any of my auto knives, and they can be retracted with one hand much easier than an auto knife (save for OTF autos). Push button autos are nice for when you lack dexterity like with gloved hands.

This and a Benchmade auto are my EDC knives, both are great knives. The Benchmade is a touch heavier, so it gets carried more for outdoors type stuff. I've had this model Protech for a few months now. It's a bit slimmer, and so far I'm impressed with it. May pick up another model this year.

I have a couple Kershaw Leeks that I keep in rotation.
One in black and one in stainless. I generally grab the black one when I wear slacks so it stays hidden and grab the stainless on the weekends.
