Friend has a mustang as a second car she bought used. She lost the key. She has none of the original paperwork .
What does she need to get another key? Are there key codes like a GM? Thanks |

It depends on the year. Older models didn't have chipped keys.
The dealer will charge you big bucks to make a chipped key. A qualified locksmith can make a chipped key for you much cheaper than the dealer. They have the software and equipment to code the new key. |

| Be prepared to leave the dealer with a bleeding asshole, I had 1 key and wanted an extra Ford dealer wanted like $90 for the blank and another 100 an change to cut and program it. Since I still had 1 key I managed to get a OEM chipped ford blank off ebay for $15 and local locksmith cut and programmed it for $50. |
