Alright, saw a kick-ass video with a bump fire stock and decided that I want one for my AR-15. I've found two companies that make them, Slide Fire and Bump Fire Systems. What's the hive's opinion on these two companies and are there pros and cons associated with each? Your input is appreciated!

Get the cheaper one if you can still find them for sale so when you get tired of burning up ammo its less money laying on top of your safe going unused.

Honestly I am surprised the Chinese haven't copied either of them and thrn sell them on ebay for $20.

I got the original one for my ak and it works great for showing off. But it is a cheap feeling item that you wouldn't use just as a regular stock.  I got it from psa last thanksgiving special for $70. I wouldn't pay more for any of them.

There are nicer ones from other companies I'm sure that work and look better I'm sure but you asked about those particular 2.

The cheap one works fine, like the poster above said, IF you can find one.  ETA Bumpfire has them is stock.

Sweet! Thanks for the responses! I wish I could do a RLL (or other MG for that matter) but the .mil and moving every 3 years ain't too conducive to that.

The Bumpfire works as advertised but it gets old fast.  I mainly use mine on a 9MM to keep ammo cost down.

It looks like Slide Fire Solutions sued and won a patent infringement suit against Bumpfire Systems.
Slidefire vs Bumpfire Litigation

If you go to Bumpfie systems website it says at bottom "licensed by SlideFire"  And Their Facebook page has a Moran, Tx location which is same a Slidefire

I bought a Slidefire when they first came out, then I bought a Beta C mag to feed it.
But honestly, I haven't used either of them for years now.

Probably not.

Not enough recoil to reset the trigger.

People do it but I have never tried myself.  It can be done but probably requires a better trigger.

Not that the Ares Shrike is very popular (Geoff your a Dick) but I am surprised you do not
see more vids with Shrikes and Bump Fire stocks. Only saw three vids on the tube.

I have a Bumpfire stock I have never used, ammo costs were to high to blast through my stash.  But now with ammo price dropping I might try it out soon.

22lr works with my cmc single stage and the upgraded psa milspec.   Haven't tried on any other lowers.   I now have a dedicated lower just for it.   As others said don't use it much.

I have a $99 Bumpfire Systems stock and it works very well. Due to the weight of my SOCOM upper, doubly so now that I have a suppressor, the 'cyclic rate' is pretty slow. It chugs away like an old  Browning 1919, thump-thump-thump-thump..

22lr ammo is so inconsistent by maker.  I bet CCI Blazer would work. It seems to be slightly more powerful and consistent of the 22lr out there

Used it for Bullseye and it shot up there with the match ammo

You can tell the Bumpfire stock is cheaper compared to the Slidefire.  Sharper edges and molding flash, plus the plastic is lighter.

I like mine, I built a dedicated gun for it.

Yea it is a ammo 'wasting' device, so its not for poor people.  But like most fun things, they cost $$$ to run.
