Got word that long eared and saw whet owls had shown up in a park in my area and had to go looking. The long eared was the first live one I'd ever seen(and a threatened species in IA), and the saw whet is simply a longtime favorite of mine that isn't usually found here. A few show up every winter and stay for a month or two, and that's about it. Wish I'd have had my camera deer hunting-had a great horned land 10 feet above my head and look right at me.
