Found this at Goodwill. Worth $3? Obviously it will need some TLC to be great again, but much FIL smokes cigars, I figure I'll sand it down, give a new finish, and see if cleans up nice. Any advice on the Cedar inside? Looks like some kind of stain on the Cedar, like to much water ran from the disc.

Cross posted in the Humidor section as well. Thoughts?

I mean, its $3, but if that's mold (the dark parts that are stained on the inside) from water dripping out of the shitty sponge humidity pack... I'd pass.

While it doesn't look as nice, you'd be better off with Tupperware and a boveda humidity pack for actually keeping cigars fresh.

Or buy one of the travel pelican type cases they make, and a boveda humidity pack.  Like this Xikar Travel Humidor

I don't think it's mold, it's dry inside as well. At least it doesn't smell bad at all, smells like Cedar and tobacco.
Surely that piece can be replaced? It was only $3, if nothing else I have a box to store little guns parts.
