Cool!

It works!

It alerts you like a PM, then instead of messages there's a new selection "Mentions" which tells you which thread and member mentioned you.

It still needs to auto-populate and provide the user some sort of 'affirmative' feedback once the mention is finished being typed.

That would be best. Something like a pre-populated context menu that comes up when you type the @ symbol and narrows down the options as you type the user name.

Some of us were beta testers and asked to help with questions once the site went live.

It's helps everyone to ask questions and not just bitch about change like a few in gd.
