This privately owned site has provided a section for legal respectable commerce between its members. Its called The Equipment exchange. Anything else involving Monetary issues and the site or the AR15.com name must be approved by the Avila's or staff. What was proposed here tonight is a pure and simple game of chance AKA gambling. This gets lumped in with raffles, drawings, and so forth. Now what Redray proposed while in very bad taste was done with good intent, but the fact remains that if we allowed him to do it. Then we would have more of the same. Joe Blow would start a ”What exact hour will Gray Davis get the boot” thread. John Doe would come up with a “Who will Mike Tyson beatup/rape next thread” Then the raffles would start Then the drawings would follow. Pretty soon money would be changing hands differences of opinion would pop up and someone would get /feel cheated and the whole thing would all fall back on good old AR15.com. The possible legalities here are obvious! I hope everyone understands the reasons why this cant be allowed. The thread locking was done after numerous IM's between several people including Ed sr and wasnt done as some act of power by a mod or staff member.
