You're free to speak your mind my friend
As long as you agree with me Don't criticize the father land Or those who shape your destiny 'Cause if you do You'll lose your job your mind and all the friends you knew We'll send out all our boys in blue They'll find a way to silence you. |

I saw them play at the state fair a few years back...they were already making the retro concert circuits by then.
John Kay was making a sound check a couple of hours before the show. He started talking on the mic to the bikers who had already gathered around the stage. He said something like, "40 years ago when I started playing, I'd have never guessed my fans would all be doctors, lawyers, and stock brokers..." (talking about all the weekend warrior wanna-be bikers there to see them play) |

Quoted: Your title is misleading. I thought this would be literary discussion.... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16631.Steppenwolf https://img0.etsystatic.com/000/0/6668472/il_570xN.310077908.jpg I had the misfortune of reading this in high school. The hallucinogens required to understand it aren't legal. In contrast, I loved Hesse's other work, Siddartha. |
