Looking to identify a 22 rifle, sorry folks no pics. I get a call (I'm stationed in Germany) from stateside asking if I know of a 22 rifle single shot break open, with an Indian on the receiver and a ring, like the old lever actions on the side. Anyone got a clue? I've researched as much as I could with the information I received, trying to get a picture set.

Ithaca maybe.  Search gun broker for a single shot .22.  Might find it there.

Break open? Are you sure it's not a falling block? Because that would be a Savage model 72.

The way the gentleman explained it, it could be a falling/rolling block. But he says "you break it open like a shotgun".

I have seen Ithaca 49s with saddle rings before, so maybe one of those?

I considered this as well, but I don't  remember if the 219 came in 22lr. It came in 22 hornet, but I believe they were all centerfire rifles.
