http://www.ronspomeroutdoors.com/blog/ifg-pedersoli-howdah-double-barrel-pistol-45-colt-410/ Pedersoli of Italy is making a Howdah double barrel pistol, a near replica of the Ithaca except it’s chambered for the .45 Colt and fitted with side-by-side rifled barrels. That allows it to be imported by the Italian Firearms Group of Texas and sold as a pistol — one that can also fire .410 shotshells. View Quote https://youtu.be/fig_45lzzNs |

That is some professional audio splicing at 4:43-4:44.
He missed his calling. |

Weren't Howdah pistols originally chambered for incredibly outlandish over-50-caliber loads? What the heck is a .410 gonna do to a pissed off tiger? |
|
Depending on price... sort of want.
If it were in something biglyier I'd say want. |

If it had outside hammers and came in 20 ga flavor I'd be all over it!
|

When I saw howdah I was expecting 4 barrels. Still sorta want though.

I don't like how the grip looks on this new Howdah at all; it may help with recoil, but it doesn't look right.
It is still pretty cool though, and if it is cheap enough I may consider it. |

Michael McIntosh wrote that he fired an Ithaca Auto & Burglar gun once, and said it was very unpleasant.

Sort of wanted one for a fun toy..... someone just posted one on GB for $1,500.00. I don't think so!

Not a Howdah.
Not even close. When marketing idiots and Youtube idiots collide, this is what you get. |

Sales of that would be complicated as that would mostly end up as an AOW. It is more closely attuned to the Ithaca auto and burglar. Do want! |
|
But where do you get the elephant to go with it? Next question, will an elephant spook a hog? Make for an awesome hog hunt on elephant back.

I have the 20 gauge muzzle loader and it's a lot of fun. This one looks too small.

View Quote As he describes, it's really an Ithaca Auto Burglar replica. Those would have been in 20 or 28 gauge originally. Making it a .45/.410 keeps it importable and off of the NFA registry while maintaining shotgun shell capability, like the original had. |

I know the were trying to make a very cool, functional, historical piece while staying out of NFA territory But goddamn, in 45/.410 you might as well save some bucks and buy a Cobray 11 incher http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rCuV3hJ-T7o/U06XHR5m15I/AAAAAAAAAOs/60qD5z3Co9k/s1600/LeinadCobray1.JPG View Quote |

I don't want one that bad. Keep an eye out sometimes the price drops to $600 or less. They also have a basic gun and a deluxe kit. The deluxe is cased and has accessories. It usually runs a little more. That was probably the one you saw. |
