All news regarding the Florida presidential election recount will be posted here. Important updates will be provided in the OP.
Look, realistically Trump has to have FL to win because without it he needs a pretty crazy combination of states to make up the 29 electoral college votes. FL is going to be less than 1% differential in totals and it's easily possible that we'll get a Bush Gore Redux. So let's start with a quick primer on how Florida recounts votes. http://ceimn.org/ceimn-state-recount-laws-searchable-database/states/Florida So really, if the totals are within 0.5 % the loser has to waive the recount for it to not happen. I think there's a strong possibility we're going to see this again:
And for those of you who don't remember, the 2000 recount was ultimately stopped by SCOTUS in a 5-4 decision along party-affiliation lines. We have a 4-4 court now which could actually freeze the court's ability to make a decision and create some real state-level chaos. Edit for Desert_AIP: Simply saying that a 5-4 decision stopped the recount is accurate but neither precise nor the whole story. The whole story is a bit much for this thread, IMO, but here's a copypasta from Wiki that hits all of the relevant high points and is certainly precise enough for the purpose of this thread. In a per curiam decision, the Court ruled that there was an Equal Protection Clause violation in using different standards of counting in different counties and ruled that no alternative method could be established within the time limit set by Title 3 of the United States Code (3 U.S.C.), § 5 ("Determination of controversy as to appointment of electors"), which was December 12.[1] The vote regarding the Equal Protection Clause was 7–2, and regarding the lack of an alternative method was 5–4.[2] Three concurring justices also asserted that the Florida Supreme Court had violated Article II, § 1, cl. 2 of the Constitution, by misinterpreting Florida election law that had been enacted by the Florida Legislature.
The Supreme Court decision allowed the previous vote certification to stand, as made by Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, for George W. Bush as the winner of Florida's 25 electoral votes. Florida's votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, one more than the required 270 electoral votes to win the Electoral College, and defeat Democratic candidate Al Gore, who received 266 electoral votes (a District of Columbia elector abstained). So buckle your seat belts, kids. If FL is within 0.5% we may not be getting a clear winner tomorrow night! This will be your one-stop shop for the massive hub of information that is GD on the subject of the 2016 FL recount! Adding: FL election results by county. Official MyFlorida.com page |

Didn't the court just apply Florida law as it is written and order a statewide recount instead of just the selective recount in the Democrat stronglolds? It's been a while and I'm going from memory here... I've said it before, my biggest fear this election is not being able to beat the fraud. -K |

If Gore had called for a statewide recount he would have gotten one. But instead Gore asked for a selective recount and that's what he got. And then when he didn't win there he demanded a statewide recount. But Gore had already used his one opportunity to call for a recount and the Supreme court case was to defend the FL law that said "You get one chance to call for a statewide or selective recount, your choice." What was interesting was the result when the NY Times performed a statewide recount itself trying to prove that Gore actually won and they discovered that Bush won by a bigger margin than the official tally. |

PREDICTION: The election will be so close, we will have another repeat of the 2000 election where Florida votes are recounted. Except this time, the country is so divided, such animosity built up between its citizens, government and media institutions, no matter what happens the recount itself will be the catalyst for the next American Civil War.
Black vs White Rich vs Poor Left vs Right Normal vs Not-Normal Elite vs The People It's the cage match from Hell. And the Donald will be lowering the cage.
