| I get a few dozen pieces of junk snail mail per week. Is there anyway to return to sender? Lets say i slap on a mailing label (with some random address) and just dump it back in the mail box...postal service will just return it to sender right? |

Ya know.. I get that someone pays to mail this crap but its pretty messed up the post office will not allow you to reject it. I pay all my stuff online and 99% of the mail I get (well over an arm load a week) is plain junk mail. You can reject it but all you are doing is wasting USPS resources. If you contact the mailer directly and ask to be removed from their mailing list you might get it to stop. |

If they send you a postage paid envelope mail all the crap back and say to remove from mailing list. it cost them postage plus 11 cents I think up to 1oz so some gravel in the envelope will add weight and cost asssuming half of them dont havent included envelopes to mail back. What would happen if i just slap a mailing label on my unopened junk mail, and drop them off in the mail? Will Post office try to deliver to the labeled address? or send it back to original sender? |

Yes,
The proper procedure is to black out the recipients address with a marker or line through each row with a pen. Then you have to write, "Return to Sender, Recipient Unknown." This does not apply to bulk-rate mail, it is destroyed when it gets returned to the post office. |
