There are recalls on those trucks for frame rust, I took mine in and they looked at it, if it had a hole in the frame over a certain size I think they bought the truck back mine didn't so they put rustproofing on, smelled like candle wax Quoted:

Frame braking in half Say what? Was this a snow state thing? |

Price is a little high unless it is high optioned 4x4 in really good shape.
If it has been in AZ the whole time the frame rust thing will be a non issue (it is only a salt/rust belt thing). Timing belt is a 100k service item, abt $1,000 to $1,500 to have done. |

That is a stupid huuge amount of money for a 13 year old truck with 90K. Is it in pristine condition? Garage kept, highway miles, etc? That's about half the price I see for them on dealer lots. They tend to run 10-14k based on options, miles, condition. |
| Seems like a decent price. Is it 4wd? Those saying it's priced too high aren't knowledgeable of the used truck market. At 90k it needs timing belt and water pump. That's about 900 at the dealer. I have an 04 doublecab with 4wdand about 160k miles. It's been a great truck for the 40k miles I've owned it. Hasn't needed anything. The drivetrain is pretty bulletproof. I'm thinking of listing mine and won't take less than 10k. A lot of money for an old truck, but that's what they cost around here. |

I completely agree with you However you are neglecting to factor in 300 million unfuckingreasonable idiots that keep overpaying for other people's used an abused trucks. It's a retarded market right now. I know a couple that just sold a T100 in average shape with way over 100 k mikes for (wait for it, maybe take some aspirin as preemptive heart attack insurance) 7500 freaking dollars That truck was over 20 years old it's insane right now. I've been looking at tacomas for years. I refuse to pay the kind if money they keep selling for. I was at a dealer the other day kicking tires had a 2013 in the used section 33k in the window. lol if I were going to do that I'd just buy the new one down the row for 35 w similar packages I don't get it

I'd offer 7k if it's in good shape - I'm semi in the market for a 4x4 pickup or suv right now and I prefer Toyotas. |

There was a member here who paid 19k for a [I think] '99 taco. |

Quoted: That is a stupid huuge amount of money for a 13 year old truck with 90K. Is it in pristine condition? Garage kept, highway miles, etc? Trucks go for stupid huge amounts of money these days. Around here it would be a decent price if it's 4x4 and is in generally good condition. The only 4x4's I see for less than that are even older and/or completely beat to shit (200k+ miles, former farm vehicles, etc). |

When I sold mine to a dealer last year (June 15) it was a 2004 double cab with nearly 110,000 miles. Had a few scratches here and there, a large juice stain from my kids on the back seats and a few other things. Certainly not pristine condition. KBB was a little under 9K They paid me (check out the door) $13,000 For what it was worth, I wasn't buying a vehicle from them and they knew that going into it. They said that KBB was grossly off on used truck values and they paid what they were worth. |
