I'm not w/o flaws, but pretty stable.
I think if I were dating right now and a girlfriend cheated on me, there might be some issues![;)]  Betrayal of any kind can push anyone over the edge a bit.  Honesty and loyalty are everyting.

"Everyone has issues...." by Nick, a friend from college.

Emotionally stable?  Depends on the mood [:D].  Everyone has high points and low points.

Am I emotionally stable? Who am I to say.

Lemme go ask my wife.

Her response: "Are you still at the damn AR15 website? Go take out the trash, or something!" [rolleyes]

Emotions? What are those?

I tend to be on the opposite side of over emotional.  It takes a lot to get me angry, sad, depressed etc...

[;)]
Anyhoo.
Lets see.... I don't really get nervous, Nor do I have emotional out-bursts. Last time someone picked a fight with me, after I put the punk down, I felt a little better, but wasnt shakenned or any crap like that. I seem to allways be cool and collected(Unless i'm drunk enough to pass out, but thats normal [;)]- not a violent drunk, even try to avoid fights in very drunken state). That is not to say that I am emotionless, Just that I don't freak out like some people I know. Not to say that i'm perfect either, As there are things that'd push me over the edge- but thats extremes.

Me thinks I'm stable...

everyone has their issues. and if they say they don't, well...that is probably one of them.

the differnce is in how people let them effect their ability to function. and if people chose to recognize and confront them...or even consider them issues.

if a person is fine with their attitudes...and genuinely happy...no matter how horrible others find them...is it really an issue?

Outstanding. I would only add, that one needs firm boundries, and you must accept people JUST the way they are, and insist on that for yourself!!

It varies.  I am like a weeble...I have tipped pretty far but I DON'T fall down, especially with the help of good friends!  I won't violate my work ethic or be dishonest.  I don't break the law, but I have been known to be an anal retentive SOB.  Does "rigid" equate to "stable"?

You don't know just how true that is!!!!

My wife and I have been seperated since mid october 2002. She was having some SERIOUS psychological issues and is still dealing with somethings.

There were many signs over the years and somethings I didn't understand or know just what they were but in hindsight I can see how many of the pieces fit together.

I, and the psychiatrist i've consulted, believe she has what is called BPD. She even caused herself serious injury (couldn't walk for a few months because of it).

I could write a few books about what has happened and it would be extremely difficult to explain somethings.

We are trying to work things out but right now its "wait and see" for me.

Life was so much simpler and I was much more together when I was single.

I've had a lot of chaos and anger (from her) to deal with. Her therapist and psychiatrist think she has depression and probably had it since she was 17 years old (before we met).

Just having noticed the responses in a lot of the threads it seems like there are a few of y'all that consider yourselves to be that rare grounded and secure person that is so hard to find in this age of rampant self-help.

The biggest thing that's helped me in my relationships (boyfriend, relatives, friends) is that NO ONE is without flaws, insecurities and fears.

Well educated, financially successful people who have a few "interesting" traits are considered eccentric and tolerated by society.

The uneducated and poor with similiar traits are often labelled psychotic.

Half, maybe more, of my professors during my undergrad years were eccentric. But you know what they say: those who can do, those who can't teach!!

I've been knocked over a few times, but seem to be able to keep it together well enough to make something whole out of the pieces that remain. When in the odd moments I dwell on the "why" of things, Lady Rain gently tells me that she has been with me through some bad moments, and when we get through them she is always happy and thankful that I have been there with her.

She's a great lady, if she believes in me I take it as a sign that I should believe in myself.
In retrospect I would  consider myself very stable.
