If those in power are the only one's who can affect this, how does it get done?  John McStain made me think of this.  How the hell can we ever get term limits?

We had it.  The Rep controlled Congress sent the bill to Bill Clinton and he signed it.  First election rolled around and congresscritters started screaming about it and got the Supreme Court to overturn it as unconstitutional.

Every election is a term limit-or not.

We re-elect 90% of them every election. No matter what they do (like McCain or Ryan),we send them back.

And people are saying Americans are fed up with politics as usual because of Trump.

Same fucking shit over and over. The Senate is almost a lifetime appointment-anyone thing Schumer will EVER get voted out?????

Who in their right, selfish mind would vote to put a guaranteed end to their own cushy gig?

State Governors should make appointments and state legislature has to approve of appointment.  If the appointed representative or senator is not representing the will of the people, state legislature votes to recall appointment and governor starts the process over again.

I don't like the idea of term limits.  A lot of damage can be done by a congressman in the last year of his last term.

If only the powers of the federal government were limited by the Constitution we wouldn't need to worry about it..............

Too bad the Founders didn't have Congress meeting once every 5 years,or unless 3/4 of the States voted to convene.

ETA-Direct election of Senators screwed us.

Speaking of term limits, I don't like the idea of lifetime appointments to the supreme court. The court has become politicized.
