Was moving a downed tree that was covered in vines and spanish moss when I got zapped in the thigh by something. Felt like a bad wasp sting so I just kept working. When I came in to change I noticed it was two holes instead of one. Was wearing bdu pants and it looks a bit large for a spider so maybe snake? Roku button for size reference been about 20 minutes and only minor swelling.

Spider bite.

If it was a snake bite through your clothes and only 2 holes, it would be venomous. Could it have been a pair of thorns?

I was just standing there and it had some sting to it so not thorns. I'm going with some kind if freak FL spider. Haven't seen any tarantulas since I left TX but I'm sure they're around. Swelling a bit more but no bruising so meh.

As others have mentioned, it's not a snake bite.  The only snakes that make two puncture holes have fangs, and are venomous.  Almost certainly a spider.

Even if non-venomous, that bite could still get infected. Wash thoroughly and keep an eye on it.

Non venomous snakes have fish teeth.  Could have been a dry strike.  That is what this country nurse says.

If it were a colubrid, there would be a series of small puncture wounds, not just the two.
Most likely a spider bite

Snakes and spiders can do "dry" bites where venom is not injected.  Also, types of venom vary greatly.  Watch for necrotic flesh..after a day or two it gets really sore and flesh rots.  My wife and I stayed in a nice hotel outside of Vancouver B.C., and she got two dry bites on her forearm that itched like a big mosquito bite.  I got three bites (6 very obvious puncture wounds within a half inch) in the taint that had venom in them.  Itched for first day, flesh began to decompose by day two...into the doctor for antibiotics and pain pills...it took a month to finally heal up, and I could barely sit for the first two weeks.  Really funny if it happens to the other guy....not so much when it is your taint that is rotting.

Disregard first post.  Looking back at the pics the holes aren't that far apart.

It would have had to been a cottonmouth or a rattlesnake if it was a snake(Coral snakes have to basically chew on you to get you).

But it's possible it was a dry bite from a rattler.  If so you are a lucky fucker!

Keep an eye on it. 20 minutes is long enough for some symptoms to have shown up, but the absence of significant symptoms at this point does NOT guarantee that it isn't a venomous snake bite.

IMHO Banana spider / Golden Orb

They leave wide marks like that. Been bitten by a few.

You will be 100% fine if you keep it clean. It can get necrotic.

Uhhh, pit vipers can give "dry" bites, I have seen two in the E.R. so, it could very well be a snake bite.

That's a snakebite from a venomous species; hopefully a dry bite but I'm not so sure about that.

Get it looked at ASAP.

Did those bites look like the one in the OP's pic?  Do the symptoms he described sound like what would be experienced from a dry venomous snake bite?  Which do you think is most likely?
