ETA: Most states have tightened up the rules on write-in candidates to save money, as when there are no such rules, the overtime costs of non-salaried election workers have been trending ever upwards. Not to mention the derivative costs associated with health care for the salaried and non-salaried who have to work even longer hours on election day than normal due to the flood of idiots who think nothing of writing in "Mickey Mouse" or whatever, without a care in the world of the effect that has on other people. |
