Exactly waht I use except instead of hamburger meat I use Jimmy Dean sage sausage. Excellant dip.

What you should have done is melt the cheese with a little milk, then add the salsa. Colby is a dry cheese, so it will not normally melt smoothly. Of course, a good Monterey jack would be much better with the salsa anyway. BTW, what kind of salsa did you use?

home made stuff my uncle canned monterey jack huh will that melt on it's own and blend with the salsa? or should i put some cream in it?
