The press has messed up big time, the reason why candidates generally treated the press with respect is that no matter how bad they might be, they can always unite and make things worse. Well if they have already been united and and shitting on Trump at every opportunity for months and Trump is still standing, then what does he have to lose? The press doesn't have any more leverage.
Because of Trump's claims about how untrustworthy and biased the press is, them attacking him now is just playing in to Trump's narrative even though I'm sure that they think they are defending the traditional role of the 4th estate or some bullshit. |
