My videos have started buffering like crazy lately. Movies are unwatchable now. What could be the problem?

I am using Exodus

Netflix streams fine with no issues.

Kodi creates data files, if you don't offload them, it can bog down. That is only one thing that might be happening.

This. I have to clear the cache on kodi roughly once a day on the firestick or videos will buffer indefinitely.

It started doing it on my laptop

I got the Amazon Fire Tv last night and loaded Kodi to it and the first movie I loaded started buffering 10 seconds into it.

How would I already need to clear cache on the first video on Amazon Fire Tv?

Check your internet speed?

Which version of Kodi,

Also my wife fiddles with ours, does something with trak, TV and some other websites that she signs into.

I get no buffering, more HD quality streams & less dead streams.

I use the firestick too.

RAW maintenance.

That is the name of a program you need to download for Kodi.  I use it once per day to clear my cache and packages and once a week to clear thumbnails.

You'll notice an immediate increase in performance after use.

Also make sure you are running Kodi 16.1 or whatever the latest version is.

I have 6 Mbs internet and I'm at the limit of it working and not working. Netflix has better buffering programs to make sure you get a good picture. Kodi does none of that. If I'm having internet issues all bets are off.

Clear cache and do what other said.

Buffering is often a poor source. Find a new one.

It could be so I will fiddle with it. I tried 4 different movies and it was the same result but I didn't see if it was the same source.

most of the time it is the stream, make sure your video addon is up to date and using all available sources
Also if you're choosing the one at the top of the list, try a different source or quality

Are you updated to the newest version and are you aware that Genisis is pretty much defunct?

Some nights, maybe once or twice a month they buffer like crazy even though Internet speed is fine.  The rest of the time it works great for me.  My guess is slow Internet somewhere down the line.

I'm struggling with Kodi.  Most of the sources are dead.  Phoenix, Channel1, etc.  The movies I select fail.

Any tips?

I'm running the Kodi 17 Krypton build with the Fusion add-on and it is disappointing how many of the feeds do not work (Exodus, CCTv, Phoenix, etc).

I have a 50 MBPS internet feed, so that is not the problem.

I am using Amazon Fire TV (not the stick) with a network cable connect.

I use Exodus as well but only buffer problems I ever have is the HBO channel.  Every other channel is fine but videos from HBO in Exodus buffer or freeze up like crazy.

Use Easy Advanced Settings to create a buffer pool to stop the buffering. You'll use leftover memory to store some of the stream on your device so it won't buffer anymore. Works great. Just don't set too much memory or your device will reboot all the time.

If you have problems PM me.
