| Watching the making of the film....Holy crap what went into this movie is nuts.....great movie though. |

Quoted:
Roy baty's speech is one of the greatest scenes in any sci fi movie... pretty much any movie for that matter. Eta: too bad they'll remake the movie and fuck it up. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die. ditto on the remake thing... |

I got DVD set that says "Four disc Collectors Edition" across the top of the box. I cab't really see a difference between Blu Ray and DVD, but my brother says no one should listen to me since I'm blind. Anyhow, here's the releases:
1. Final cut (2007) - Director Ridley Scott finally sets it his way... I don't like it. 2. Theatrical Cut 3. International Theatrical Cut - I believe this was my favorite 4. Director's Cut (1992) - I didn't care for it. |

Yeah, someone will make a sequel/remake and it'll suck balls and no amount of CGI will make up for the suckiness.
In 1982 film makers used models, paintings, and cameral angles to create awesome special effects. Now, everything's digital and damn little of it looks real. |

So far, so good. I like the casting choices. Quoted:

I believe a sequel is in the works, and it sounds kind of promising. So far, so good. I like the casting choices. I was hoping for a TV miniseries. Damn, there are some hot ladies in that cast. |

If they base it on Jeter's work post PKD, yeah....it's gonna suck.... |

Didn't care for it, until i saw the extended. The theatrical release just felt like a lot was missing and rushed. The way they marketed and promoted it made it appear to be another movie. It sucked at the box office on it's release. But then people watched it more, liked the depth and alternate-ness to futuristic movies like Star Wars and it became a cult classic. Sci-Fi Noir. It was punk before there was mainstream punk. Had to be one of the first movies to showcase the look. |

I know some people in the industry. One of the most amusing things about that movie is that they didn't have any trouble finding an assortment of kooky-looking people in L.A. to serve as extras in the scenes where crowds of people are moving around. The costume and makeup people didn't have to work very hard on them. The Hare Krishnas are actually Hare Krishnas - Not specified at all in the screenplay, they just showed up at the audition and got hired on the spot. |

One of those rare films where the movie is 10x better than the book (although BR was a pretty loose version of Electric Sheep). I don't care much for Dick's writing - he had good story ideas, but the execution fell short.
I also thought both versions of Total Recall were much better than "We remember it for you wholesale". |

The kids who went to the movie expecting to see a "Star Wars'-type action adventure were disappointed. |

Still my all-time favorite movie (not the Director's Cut -- sorry Ridley). Indeed. Director's cuts usually suck- it's just a money making scam for the studio. As a side note, Rutger Hauer never received his proper due over his career, and pretty much just dropped off into obscurity. Strange, this is one of my favorite sci-fi films, yet I don't have it on Blu-Ray. |

I actually like a couple of US films he did after BR. Hitcher is pretty bad ass. |

One day I'll pony up, and get the CIBI glasses he uses in the film. ![]() I've seen a couple of the COP "derringers" for sale, never ponied up for one - "I'll tell you about my mother!" |

Yeah, Dick's storylines were great, but his writing style is hard to read. Check out Heinlein, great storylines and great writing style! |

Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave Some deep insights into humanity in the film. Believe it or not, when I got back from serving two years as a missionary, Blade Runner was the first film I wanted to rent and watch when I got home. |
