[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Verizon Smartphones! Which one? (Page 1 of 2)

| Last Monday I traded my iPhone 5 that wouldn't charge or stay charged in for an LG G3, well today, the screen goes out, fuck me running, right? I can go in tomorrow for a defective device exchange. What should I get? I want something that won't break. |

Best bang for your buck that doesn't actually bang when the battery explodes...Moto X Pure:
https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-x-pure-edition You can find them from reputable dealers on ebay for a little less than Motorola if you really want to save every last penny. |

Whichever one isn't attached to the lying, thieving, blood sucking assholes known as verizon. And that's where the Moto X Pure wins. I should note that Verizon wont offer that phone to you in the store. The closet you can currently get from them is the Z. If you have to take a trade and they won't let you get credit back since you're returning the faulty LG, I'd say go for the Z. On the Moto X Pure you don't get stuck with all of Verizon's bloat ware so long as you setup the phone over wifi without the SIM card installed. Also install Marshmallow during your initial wifi setup by updating the phone if it isn't already on there from Motorola if you get the X. Once you've got the phone setup done, add the SIM card and your're Verizon nanny ware free but on Verizon's network. I'm not sure if the Z allows you to do the same thing but a factory reset and then giving it a try should let you know even if the store sets it up for you. Some searching online should give you more info. The Moto X Pure allows you to run a high speed micro SD card as internal memory with Marshmallow, so if you pick up a micor SD card like the 128GB Samsung Pro Select($89) and only opt for the 16GB capacity phone it allows you to save some money per GB of storage without sacrificing performance. |

How would it possibly win? Motorola's product support fucking sucks since they were sold by Google and when back to its natural state of abysmal quality. The fucking Moto X 2014, an awesome phone, was dropped from getting updates before two years. Motorola betrayed it's customers and went back to its old pre-Google purchase self. If the goal is independence from Verizon and lack of bloatware, that literally is the purpose of a Nexus phone. |

I've got the note 7. Hasn't even blown up yet! I really don't like the curve bullshit. You can't really see anything on it so you are constantly zooming and scrolling over. Also a proper fully glued glass protector doesn't exist yet. Other than that I love it. If there was a note 7 flat screen it would be awesome.
That said, go for the S7 if those issues would bother you too. New notes should be available soon. |

Samsung S7 Except there's a recall on them. They are known to turn into IEDs. Nope. That's the Note 7. And the one with the less blow uppie battery is going to be available soon. |

Galaxy S7 Active. 32gb, 4000mah battery, expandable to an additional 200gb micro sd, rugged, water resistant and otterbox makes a defender case to make the phone nearly indestructible. Buy a charging pad and youll never have to plug it in. I love mine.
Avoid the S7 Edge, screen prone to easy breakage. |

I had a Verizon Galaxy S6 for a while, and liked it a lot, and typically am not a fan of Samsung. If the price isn't much different an S7 sounds OK, but if you can save a couple of hundred, I felt the S6 was a great phone. Should be able to get a G4 from the cheap too, my wife has been using one for a year or so now, and likes it a lot. She hasn't had any issues with hers. |

Google (LG) Nexus 5x. $300-$350 out of contract phone. $80 for 2 years of insurance. Done. I came here to post this. I love my 5x. It is my 3rd Nexus device. The Samsung flavor of the OS feels like Fisher Price had a hand in tweaking it. The power and volume buttons are on the same side, so you can actually HOLD it without pressing a button. |

Quoted: I'm loving my HTC One I had a Droid Maxx 2 that had great battery life, but it was huge, only had 16GB on board storage and no SD slot, the display wasn't any better than the M9, I like that phone as well, the battery life was great. |

Quoted: UPDATE: They told me i'm SOL and I have to pay $149 to insurance for a new one I also think they gave me the display model. I'm glad you read everyone's advice. First off, they are WRONG. If there is no physical damage it is under the manufacturer's warranty. If they can't handle it, you call and send it in. Second, if you are referring to that you paid for a new phone and they gave you a display model, you need to get manager's or corporate involved. |
