[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Red Dot selection

I'm looking to put a fairly inexpensive red dot on my ruger 10/22 international. I can't decide between the 42mm and 30mm. Also which makes should one beware of (BSA, Tasco, Simmons)?

Thoughs and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Sloth

In case your wondering, I'm not putting a traditional scope on her, because I don't like the way that they look on a mannlicher stcoked gun. I also want something a bit faster than crosshairs.

BSA red dots are good on .22s as far as 30mm or 42mm it's personal choice, ive got a 30mm and like it. The dot does double duty between a 10/22 and a P22.

I don't have a problem with the BSA I have, but you may want to hit the search function.
