We've owned Saturns for the past ten years, now have midsize Saturn wagon with a six- best damned car I ever owned. It goes everywhere, hauls all kinds of stuff and kids around to US and Canada, no problems.
Many years ago, I used to work on cars- tune-ups (Distributors!- points!-carburetors!) changed engines, pumps, rear ends, clutches, brakes, did electrics, valve grinding, etc. That stuff gets real old, real fast when you have a family and responsibilities. My gear head days are long past, thank you very much- let the dealer eat the problems on the warranty (which we actually pay for, from any manufacturer- it's incuded in the price)- no mechanical problems, no hassle, no bullsh*t.
I also used to work for a VW/Toyota dealer years ago, both repairing and then selling cars. The experience left me jaded about the auto industry. Car dealers are crooks, period. If Saturn dealers are crooks, they are subtle, and they don't leave you feeling like you've been in a prison cell with Mike Tyson by the time they are done with you...[shock]
Used to own the smaller Saturns, they are kind of cramped for stout people, but most Americans are too fat anyway- go on a diet, for chrissakes! [:D]
Wife wants to get a VUE. Cool- better than that damned minivan she drives now....I hate minivans- gimme a station wagon any day.
