Played last night on PC. It ran perfect, no frame rate issues or crashes on default settings (whatever it set for my PC, didn't look):
Observations: -No reason to request a revive, hold space bar. -No reason to be a medic unless you like the semi auto rifles. It does help the medic class can drop ammo. -VOIP is not working on PC as far as I can tell. -There is no reason to not spawn in a ground vehicle unless people are actually playing as a squad (they aren't) -The faster armored vehicle, fully loaded with people moving from spawn point to spawn point is the best way to play conquest and its not even close. -I didn't enjoy trying to shoot from horseback. What needs to be fixed: -If you aren't going to give a reason to revive a player get rid of the mechanic. -VOIP is a MUST -I don't think the anti-tank grenades are enough but I haven't tried much else. Its still really early in a beta release so I am hesitant to bash any balance issues. That will get worked out. But as far as the Beta goes on conquest if you aren't in a vehicle you are doing it wrong. |

I loved playing medic, but I've always liked support classes. Dropping health packs as your squad assaults really helps with taking points/buildings. It's especially useful around cover when you can just rake in the points(two guys shooting from cover means they are constantly drawing fire. Constant fire means incremental health loss).
Reviving needs work. It doesn't seem catch your eye on the mini map if you aren't searching for them. All in all, not too glitchy considering it's Beta. |
| I played for a few hours last night with no issues. Not glitches, rubber banding or lag at all. I like it overall. The Sinai desert map was a snipers paradise- both good and bad. I like the scopes requiring hold over or at least with no rangefinding. I think they've done a good job with it. Hopefully they test releases thoroughly before releasing. too much was released early for BF4 that was glitch. |

I'm really on the fence with this one. With Conquest, it seems that either a) vehicles just never get destroyed or b) they take forever to respawn, so there was a ton of walking across a huge map, only to be sniped when you get anywhere near an objective. With Rush, it seems like the team on offense was winning every match I was in, so not a lot of fun being on the defensive side and taking a pounding.
The time-to-kill seemed high (4-5 primary weapon body shots to enemy < 10m away, and they're still at 20+ health?), and pistols seemed all but worthless. Not sure if it was a bug, or by design, but playing Support, and if you had a gadget out and try to switch to primary, you see your gun immediately, but there's a lag of a few seconds before you can fire, so ended up getting killed like that several times. I know it's early, and this is only one map, but so far, I'm not really "into" it and have cancelled my pre-order and will check back into things a month or two after release to see how things play out. |

The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar. From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you’ll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles. When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.
Two modes will be available as well:

Runs great on PC, but I wont be picking it up.
I wanted a WWI fps. Why the fuck are entire armies battling it out with extremely rare and niche semis and full autos which saw very little action during the war? Where are all the bolt guns and trenches? Its COD with some gas grenades. I'll stick to BF4 when I want a modern shooter. Verdun is a far superior WW1 FPS. |

Just my opinion but I played Verdun a month ago and its the first and only game I have refunded on Steam. It ran like crap, looked like crap and multiplayer was broken. Not in balance or whatever, I didn't play long enough. It was broken in that getting into a game was difficult. If you are looking for realistic shooter Insurgency or the now stand alone Day of Infamy is the way to go. I think of BF1 as being a great multiplayer game that utilizes really interesting pieces of actual content/history from WWI. I don't know how anyone could of thought realism or historical accuracy was going to be the goal of a Battlefield game. Also the trailers were very clear on what your expectations should be. I am very interested to see what the single player story is going to be like. |

There was just no point to the WW1 setting other than its the only era they havent made a BF for. Agreed about Insurgency. Its good. Really surprised at your experience with Verdun, though. Mine is the opposite and I've played it on and off for 9 months. Its a hard and unforgiving game, takes time to get used to it. |

I watched a stream for a couple hours last night. Really strong player, having a rough time with the shit SMGs trying to level up the engineer class or whatver they call it now. I think there will be 4-5 really stong ACE 23/AEK/M16A3 guns and all snipers/vehicle whores in this one unless the gun balance changes dramatically.
eta- I know that sounds crazy having that take from just watching, but the recoil and random spread, and inherent inacuraccy was very noticeable |

It is quite fun but a totally different playstyle compared to Battlefield. Quoted:

Who cares? Verdun is so much better. It is quite fun but a totally different playstyle compared to Battlefield. Nothing like a melee fest, my poor bayonet... I need to fire that up again

I saw a video for it and it looks interesting. Can you ride the horses in PvP? Can you control the old school ww1 tanks? Yes, you ride horses, control tanks, and fly biplanes. I've played a few matches the other day but today the servers are getting "attacked" and they are down. Tried to play a few minutes ago, no joy. |
