Cross post from sig forum.

One of the things I really like about the Sigs Is the magazines drop free unlike some other pistols where you gotta grab & rip to reload.

Took my 320'to the range and tried my newly purchased mag out but discovered it DID NOT drop free.

Pics of shooter:

Manually worked it in and out of the mag well numerous times to see if it would free up but it did not.

Came up with bright idea of polishing the sucker to see if that would allow it to drop free on mag exchanges.

Pics of buffer from father in law in background.  Excuse the cluttered bench top.

Gave it a few licks with the buffer and it works like a CHAMP now !

I'm a genius.

Gave the pistol a good cleaning and loved how the internal mechanism pulled out of the shell so I could really clean it well.

This pistol is incredible.  This pistol shoots LIGHTS OUT.

I've got a like new Springfield EMP 9mm and someone wants to trade me his new Sig p320rx with the Romeo sight and $100. Don't know if it's worth it or not

Huh.

I have a P250c that I love and every mag I have for it drops right out, no problem.

That's not a factory mag, is it? I see "made in USA" there.

250's are built here as well and the mags are interchangeable with the 320. All of my 250 mags are made in Italy.

OP is using a Mec-Gar or ProMag or something.

Mecgar's are made in Italy and are the oem for "good" Sig mags.  Smart Sig owners know buying Mecgars at nearly half price is the thing to do vs. paying more for the same mag in Sig packaging.

Recently Sig has been changing over to US made check mate pistol mags which historically are not as good.

ProMags exist to practice malfunction drills.

So which does OP have? They are stamped made in USA.

Proper mags shouldn't require polishing or other machine work to drop free.

No idea.  It has "Sig Sauer" engraved on both sides and on the floor plate as well as "made in the USA"

Cost $41 I think.

Interesting. I own 3 P320 Compacts and a couple of dozen 15 & 17rd mags and every single one of them drops free out of all 3 handguns.

My buddy just got the subcompact P320. We went to the range so he could break it in and I to get some much needed trigger time on my G43.

Pistol shot well although it had to failure me to eject for him and one for me. Trigger is crazy awesome. Didn't have any issues with the mags dropping free.

I would assume he is referring to how the fire control chassis slides out of grip frame.

The only Glock mag I have that doesn't drop free is a non-FML mag that isn't designed to drop free (I use it for a range mag).

No drop issues on my P250;

I have found this to be true: This pistol shoots LIGHTS OUT.

ETA :  I just happen to have a P250 w/mag right next to my PC  I looked - Mag made in Italy

I like the cutouts at the bottom of the grip.

I'm considering doing that to my 19.

That or the Vickers mag floor plates stick out.

I'm leaning toward the cutouts though since I can then use any mag without issue.

Checkmate are the best M-14 mags on the market.  No experience with their pistol mags.

Having evaluated them, I'd say they're onto something.  It's an excellent design in every respect.

Needs 10 years or so in the wild to see how they hold up compared to Glocks in seriously high round counts and hard use.

Some of the checkmate mags made for the classic series have a problem with cracking near the feed lips.

The older 320's came with Italian Mec-Gars.  The newer ones are coming with USA made Checkmate mags.  They are all marked Sig Sauer.

Checkmate is the reason the M9 has a bad reputation.  They make shitty mags with rough parkerized finishes and weak springs that set easily.

Is yours the carry or compact model?

I want one of the carry models w/ either the OD frame or the FDE all over.

Those triggers are sweet.

If the 320 existed when I was looking at glocks, I wouldn't own a glock.

Compact Medium. Fits my hand beautifully.

ETA: I have fairly small hands I'd say.
