I had a cheap 870 clone. It stopped working, I took it apart to repair, saw the barrel material was shaving off - chamber walls thinning, NOPE!
I have an actual 870, now. I polished the bolt and carrier, especially where they interface. Polished the chamber and mag tube, especially the mouth of the mag tube. I also did the action bars where appropriate. Swapped to factory trap trigger spring, 1100 dog leg spring, and Vang Comp follower and safety. I would go to a VQ extractor if I needed to but I don't think this one needs it. I don't like the metal trigger guard and feel like swapping it is a Fudd meme. This made the gun very nice. I removed the factory coating and replaced it, I'm much happier with the new finish. |

I own one. Heavier and they have rougher edges. They work very well. Almost everything is interchangeable with the 870 except the barrel. Not a great pic, I was taking this so another member could see the Mesa tactical stock adapter
I also own a S&W 3000 (870 clone) and it's much lighter and smoother than the 982.

I also added one of the one round extensions that was available for a while.
