[ARCHIVED THREAD] - DMT... Discuss (Page 1 of 6)

This will be long, but worth it.

For those who don't know what DMT is:

It's a natural substance produced by every living thing on earth.  It's in plants, animals and created in the center of your brain in the pineal gland.  The pineal gland is seen by many cultures as your "3rd eye".  It's responsible for your dreams, and the after death experiences many people describe.  It's known as the "Spirit Molecule".  You can watch the documentary here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtT6Xkk-kzk or search youtube for "Joe Rogan DMT" where Joe has tried the drug many times and advocates its use.  He claims the experience is so profoundly spiritual and life changing that after his first time taking DMT, he thought about the experience every day for 6 years.

It's not addictive, you can't overdose on it, and you can't be tested for it.  It is generally smoked, but can be ingested or administered intravenously and trips last for an average of 15 minutes.  It's the only drug in the world you can go from completely blasted out of your mind, to sober in 20 minutes.  Everyone who has experienced DMT claims it is not a recreational drug you can just take... it's spiritual.

People who have taken it first describe hearing a noise, that soon vibrates the world as you know it until your entire reality shatters around you.  You experience being pulled from your body and blasted out into the universe.  People experience different spectrums of colors we didnt know exist, seeing sacred geometry they cant explain, in a 4th dimensional (or even more?) world.  If you take a large enough dose, you will encounter higher intelligence, angels, or even God himself.  People describe learning profound, life changing knowledge from these entities, but much like a dream cannot remember when they wake up.  They only remember that they had learned something incredibly profound.

Many people have claimed the world they entered was more real than our current reality.  One guy who tripped for 15 minutes in clinical testing asked when he woke up how long he had been gone, and the nurse replied, "15 minutes."  He then explained as real as he was talking to her then, that he had just lived 1000 life times in 15 minutes.  In this world time does not exist.

Another guy, has claimed he moved faster then the speed of light, back in time, to watch the very creation of our universe:

...i remember waking up in space. The middle of space. Then i felt my body being torn from itself and from time and the physicality of reality. I was flying past nebulas, galaxies, stars, space; all faster than the speed of light. I was going back wards in time. Then in a hundredths of a millisecond all light and everything condensed into nothing. No, not condensed. Disappeared. and in the nothingness, there was something more. There wasn't emptiness in the nothingness. For some reason I thought maybe i would see God. But im glad i didnt. Then everything exploded. The most powerful, the loudest, most wrathful, fearful, most passionate, terrifying bang. And there was light. Light from nothing shatter the nothing into existence. For the light was making space for everything else. and the light was good. And from the nothingness came everything.

My body was torn from itself once more. Flying through time and space, i listened as stars exploded, and rocks smashed into each other creating fire and destruction. I watched as the gases in space reacted to each other to form a start. I watch the rocks fly around and smash into other rocks. And in all the chaos of the universe, order would be brought. The stars and the rocks feared the shout. They had to get ready. They had to bring life. And in the destruction, order came. An atmosphere formed around this rock in space. I saw the suns solar rays hit it and burn away as if there was a shield. With nature in all of its glory and power, water formed, water which filled the planet and fed the dry land. I saw a meteor smash into an object next to earth. I moved away from the sun. Revolutions and rotations sped up, and millions of years went past to the present. Back to myself...

I've never taken any recreational drugs and I'm not interested in getting high, or putting unhealthy substances in my body.  I see this as more spiritual, and the more i go down the rabbit hole the more interested in it I become.  Why has this substance been placed in every living thing on earth by God?  And even at the very center of our brains?

Found this interesting:

3. “Twenty-five years ago, Japanese scientists discovered that the brain actively transports DMT across the blood-brain barrier into its tissues. I know of no other psychedelic drug that the brain treats with such eagerness. This is a startling fact that we should keep in mind when we recall how readily biological psychiatrists dismissed a vital role for DMT in our lives. If DMT were only an insignificant, irrelevant by-product of our metabolism, why does the brain go out of its way to draw it into its confines?”

4. “Once the body produces or takes in DMT, certain enzymes break it down within seconds. These enzymes, called monoamine oxidases (MAO), occur in high concentrations in the blood, liver, stomach, brain, and intestines. The widespread presence of MAO is why DMT effects are so short-lived. Whenever and wherever it appears, the body makes sure it is used up quickly.”

The description of the experience seems very much like lucid dreaming, which I experience on occasion.  With me, it starts with a roaring sound and sleep paralysis, then I get up (but not really) and start to do just about anything I want to do.

I think that when this occurs, my brain is producing a bit more of that stuff than usual.

I was talking to someone about this...

Our stomach produces an enzyme that counter acts the DMT our body produces.  Some people have very vivid dreams that seem "more real" than reality, other people don't dream at all.  This could be because of our diets and what creates (or doesn't create) more of the enzyme that counters it.

Ayahascua, which contains DMT, is legal in some South American countries.   Graham Hancock has described his experiences.

After hearing his remarks about diarrhea and vomiting, I decided that I could live without it.

Apparently, the phenomenon of "UFO abduction", is some how related to natural DMT, and before modern times, to the fairy world.

I recall reading about that when I was in high school.  In particular it was about learning to control the dream in which you are falling.  I used to have that dream on a regular basis and got where I could not startle awake, it was rather like flying.

Crazy thing is I haven't had one of those dreams in over 20 years.  Kinda miss it.

Why would you come to a GUN discussion forum, to post about doing drugs? Most people here enjoy actually shooting guns and not running afoul of the law.

This is nothing different than asking if anyone enjoys doing a little bit of crack. Illegal is illegal, and there is a very small amount of people who have done it under clinical settings, none of which are going to be posting on here.

It's an uphill battle OP , by and large you need to remember most of GD is you're typical "I don't eat rye toast, cuz it's for the queers" types. So even approaching the idea of discussing a topic that goes against conventional lifestyles is going to get the Brady types ready to slap the report button.

In terms of your question, I'm told that it's a short term experience that's best followed up with a nitro balloon while laying in a hammock while you re enter the atmosphere.

It was an extremely traumatic, life changing experience.  Like some kind of existential, religious experience.  I thought I was going to die and prepared myself for that mentally.   I acceted my own death.   It was the single most intense, terrifying and humbling thing that has ever happened to me.

I was depressed for months afterwards,  knowing that my life was meaningless.   Then, I  decided to make something of myself and make a difference in this crazy world.   It worked and I'm super happy with where I am in life.  I like helping other people and being relatively successful.   Deep down I know I'm nothing but an infinitesimal whisp of smoke in the universe.   But that knowledge is awe inspiring and helps me focus on making my, and other's,  immediate experience as wonderful as possible.

I would never jump into that black hole again.  I learned all I need to know after the first time.

I didn't read every word of that article... but those under clinical trials were administered intravenously by pure DMT and had spiritual experiences.  The guy in the link probably had it laced with something?  Or maybe not, he was raped!
