My business is in an area that Comcast does not service. We have Century Link now and it sucks

it has gotten to the point that it doesn't work more than it does and they don't seem to care and can't

fix it. Are there any satellite  providers that are worth a shit. Thanks

Satellite is probably going to be like using your cellphone to surf the net (if they even offer service).

If you don't have FIOS in your area you're probably screwed.

These cable companies have their areas pretty well locked up so you have to accept their overpriced, shitty service.

I have had century link for close to 20 years now and yes, they do suck and have always sucked, I just spent 6 hours on the phone with their tech dept the other day going round after round about knowing where the trouble is, I even pinged their lines back to the central office to prove it was bad.  Finally I convinced them there is something wrong in the lines, they finally agreed to replace some of them and it has worked pretty good for the last couple of days.  What pisses me off, my last 6 years in the service was in IT and I knew what the fuck was wrong.  I have the exact same tools their guys and gals carry.

Satellite internet is terrible, slow, expensive and you will never get the speed they advertise.

I've been dealing with AT&T in a similar situation for about a year. The cell signal is too weak for FIOS, and satellite sucks. They're finally getting their shit together on keeping my service reliable, but it took a lot of hassle to force them to do it. I'm still dropping them later this month when Charter comes online.

Getting them to fix it is all about building a volume of complaints, and forcing them to treat it as an ongoing problem, rather than a series of unrelated outages. Be polite but firm, and demand action on a specific timetable.
Log and report every outage. Keep a spreadsheet of the contact info of every manager that you deal with, and contact them all for every outage. I have a mass email list set up for AT&T, and they all get notified with mine goes out. That finally annoyed them enough that they assigned me a permanent high-level tech support rep who's actually competent. I actually have his direct cell number .
Do some web research, and send certified hard copy letters to their offices. File complaints with your state's public service commission and the FCC. Just keep on them until they offer a real solution.

ETA: Go read and post on DSL Reports. Those guys can be very helpful with info on how to resolve these issues.

Thanks for the responses so far, you are telling me what I was afraid you were going to

tell me. What really sucks is there is Comcast cable a 1/4 mile away and they won't run it

up to my area for 3-4 accounts

Search for a WISP.  Just Google the word WISP and your city.
