As a father, I've had a great year.

Last month I took part in my son's initiation as the newest (and youngest) member of our Masonic Lodge.

Last night we watched him graduate from high school.

Next week we'll accompany him to a reception at the U.S. Capitol for recipients of appointments to US service academies.

Later this month, we'll drop him off at West Point, to begin his military career.

I just thought I'd share that (and yes, brag) with the members here. Being a parent can be a great experience.

Oh well, one down, two to go...
