I have these little bluetooth buttons called Flic that I use with my phone. They don't order shit off of Amazon (although I think there's a way you can set them up to do that).
Well, the buttons don't do shit but tell your phone they've been pressed. The app can do all kinds of shit. I use Tasker with my Flic buttons to do all kinds of shit with my Home Automation controller since it has a pretty easy to use API. One of the buttons in my car will open and close my garage door. Don't worry, I added in a geofence to the open command so it won't open the door if I'm too far away. I have a button on my headboard that sets my HA system to sleep, and then 'wakes' it up when I'm getting up. I'm not sure what I'd use it for. Maybe for coffee, but the beans I really like are only available at Whole Foods (literally the only thing I ever buy there... I go in every month or so and buy four cans). |
