If you're married to a woman and she has a baby that is not yours.  But you didn't find that out until after you signed the birth certificate as the dad, are you stuck being the legal dad of that baby?

According to Ca law yes.  I believe it is the same in many states also.  In fact I had a kid working for me who was separated from his wife.  She got pregnant (only child) by her boyfriend and he had to pay child support for that child.  SHe even admitted it was another guys.  Made no difference.

In some states you can contest paternity any time up to (sometimes only at) divorce.

There's states that says if you're married to a woman you are the legal father of any child she has as long as you're married.

Yeah, I've heard of that happening.  Crazy if you got divorced when the child was born and had to pay child support for a child that wasn't yours until the child was 18.
