There are three types of authentication factors- something you have, something you are, and something you know.

While it's been established the Fifth Amendment can prevent authorities from compelling you to turn over a memorized PIN or password (something you know), it's been demonstrated multiple times that you can be directed to unlock a device with a fingerprint (or other biometric information) with a warrant.

Not saying it's right, but that is what has been happening.
