. STRATFORD - Guns don’t shoot people but apparently dancing does.
A local man’s dance moves got himself arrested after police said he accidentally shot himself in the leg during a holiday weekend party. Kiel Helenese, 32, of Poplar Street, was charged with possession of a loaded gun while under the influence of alcohol, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was released after posting $1,000 bond. Police said on Sunday night they were dispatched to Quail Street for a shooting. When officers got there they found Helenese in his underwear holding a bloody rag on his right leg. Helenese told officers he had been dancing with some friends when his Glock 26 pistol on his right hip went off shooting himself in the leg. Police said Helenese smelled heavily of an alcohol beverage. Helenese was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and later released.

It's more likely that he simply had it unholstered than he was waving it around and shot himself in the leg. You're an idiot if you carry condition 0 without a holster that covers the trigger. |
