Two and a half months ago I had a little health scare. In the process of trying to figure out what was wrong I had a blood test done. It turns out that I didn't have anything seriously wrong, but it still caused me to make some serious changes in my life pertaining to what I eat and how much exercise I get. I try not to mention what I have been doing to everyone around me. I figure if it's working they will tell me about it.
Well anyway, I just got back a second blood test I had done for a life insurance policy application. Keep in mind all of these changes have happened between March, 29th 2016 and two weeks ago. Total cholesterol has gone from 261 to 123 Triglycerides from 249 to 139 HDL cholesterol from 36 to 35. gotta work on that. Eat more salmon I guess LDL cholesterol from 175 to 60 On top of all that I have lost 40 lbs. Yay me!!! |

Congrats! Nothing feels better than being healthy. Is there anything specific your altering with your diet or just a low carb/sugar diet? I found out that I have reached an age that my body just doesn't like salt. Any salt and I start swelling up. My heart is fine body just doesn't like salt anymore. So the first thing I did was get rid of salt in my diet. Of course that meant all processed foods. After the first week I had lost 10 lbs so I decided to see how far I could take it. I reduced red meat and carbs. I eat a lot of yogurt and fruit for breakfast and chicken or fish for dinner. I try to keep to around 1200-1500 calories a day. |

WTF, did you get a transfusion and replace the gravy in your veins with blood. That is a huge change in a month or so. I'm as shocked as anyone. I didn't know this was even possible. My blood pressure has gone from 125/75 ( I never really had high blood pressure) to 113/64. |

Wow!! That is fantastic! It's nice not to feel tired All THE TIME, isn't it? "Nice" doesn't even scratch the surface, but yes....it's a great feeling. A huge part of my results is due to weight training. With the weight loss and the muscle tone, the.... "attention" I get these days.... Let's just say there's not a chance in hell I'm going back to being a fat kid. And shame on me for not saying it in my previous post, but huge congrats to you for your progress. |
