I am being bothered by a simple problem. I'm 76 years old and have been a gun enthusiast since I was 18. I love guns! I wish I could put into words why, certainly not for a destructive reason, just the designs, and capabilities and off course looks. I used to love re-loading when I was an active hunter. Now here is my question, I just got involved with AR15's . I have bought 2 and built 2 and I cannot express the joy that has brought me. Just taking a newly built one to shoot for the first time is almost better than an orgasm (at 76). The first shot from a 30 round mag is joy beyond words. Then shooting the next 29 without a flaw, wow! Now, to my point. I have an uneasy feeling not going out to shoot my treasures regularly, I feel I am doing something wrong by just having them sit and looking at them and off-course fondling them. Am I wrong in not going shooting more often or is it OK to just admire them and enjoy the pride of ownership? I have a new Colt M4 carbine that has never been shot, all I did was to put on a new stock and handguard.
Thanks for reading this....

Some people like to build engines on cars or bikes, admire their work, admire the technology and then admire someone else wringing the performance of it, while others only enjoy the performance part.
There's no such thing as normal. We all enjoy what we enjoy for our own reasons. |

Correct, an attempt to establish what 'normal' is... sounds more and more like a liberal narrative that'll later be enacted or legislated on for control. |
