Fuck that. I'd never let my wife ride on the back of that. Looks like a wreck waiting to happen. I'm eyeing a Ducati Scrambler right now for a little hipster bike.

Neither one of us are huge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSpSzXrdB3c Have you ever seen both the Pouncey Twins on a 50cc scooter? Ain't pretty. They have zero acceleration with a 240# bastard (me) and 100# college hottie on them. |
|
You are really diggin' the new scooter.
They ride fine with two, with the proportionate loss of acceleration and power of course. Which of course means now you're gonna have to upgrade the air intake, the jets and exhaust next. Enjoy yourselves, be careful out there! Cheers! -JC |

That would be like screwing a fat chick,it might be fun to ride but I wouldn't want my buddies to see me on it ......

Apparently. I mean, I realize that nothing makes the ladies say "COOL!!!" like a scooter with a Batman sicker.... |
|
What keeps the seat locked, in the down position?
Can the seat roll back, if the center of gravity moves back (under hard acceleration *cough*)? Don't want the lady dumped on the ground. |

Considering he's married and riding a scooter to begin with, I don't think he's worried about impressing the 15 year olds at the stop light like you are. |

The Ruckus is a hoot to drive.
And yes, being married and almost 52 years old, I have no interest in impressing the ladies these days. Get off my lawn! |

You were under the impression that threads on GD were all meant to be a big circle jerk where we all got together, held hands, sang songs and made sure that nobodys' Feelz got hurt while we express our praise through poetry and interpretive dance. Boo Fucking Hoo on me for having, and actually expressing, a different opinion. Maybe you should have your Mommy write a note to the Principal about it. |

Only time wife will most likely ride along is when we take it along for beach weekends.

All us moto dudes rode the fuck out of scooters in high school. We'd roll up to football practice in our little posse and fuck shit up. Always had em with our bikes in trucks and vans as pit bikes too. The Zuma and Ruckus are cool scoots and a lot of fun.
70cc kit (sssshhhh) and a pipe and you're ready to rock. |

Like I said, most likely she will only be on when cruising the beach towns going 15 mph in all the beach traffic. |

We use to hit jumps and try hill climbing with ours. One buddy showed up to school on a Zuma with full gear. Helmet, goggles, boots, pants, Jersey, even a leatt brace. It was hilarious. |

Will a 12 pack fit under the seat or do you have to put it between your feet like the Mexicans do around here?

But as the protector of my family, there is no way I would risk my wife (or myself for that matter) on a two wheel meat grinder. The bigger the better for me. I hope I never hit a motorcycle or moped in my life, but if I ever do, I know which side of the hospital/morgue I'll be on. |

Glad I had the gas can strapped to the front rack today, low fuel light came on today, pulled into a church parking lot and filled up the gas tank, and kept going.
I do wish the Ruckus had a real fuel gauge on it. |

Now most asians aren't as massive as most americans, but I have seen a family of seven on a scooter, with the dog, in Kaioshiung. 3-5 people (father, mother, baby , kids mostly little) is not unusual. I am guessing their teeneagers are too embarrassed to be seen with their parents too, because that I did not see riding on the same scooter. |

Cool! Make sure you explain the laws of physics to her with her weight distribution on that thing though.
Why not just get her one too? |
