Did they ever get the barrel extension issue sorted out?

Their barrels had a nasty issue with barrel extensions coming loose for no reason at all.

Also, it hasn't been addressed as far as I've heard, OP.

Been seeing some really good deals on their uppers. Guess I will pass.

They were coming loose during normal use? I thought they were only coming loose when someone used a reaction rod on them.

I've been looking at their 6.5 Grendel uppers, so this thread interests me.

If it was on their nitrided / melonited barrels, that wouldn't surprise me.  After taking a swim in the salt bath, the barrel extensions should be retorqued and even have some of that penetration loctite used for good measure.  They probably got them back from nitriding and just installed them...

They were improperly built and would often fail very quickly during normal shooting. The entire barrel and installed extension were nitrided as a unit causing them to fall apart. Radical's response was less than stellar.

IIRC there was another big thread here on this, that concluded the problems had been addressed and corrected. Maybe try a search.

My friend has a RF 7.62x39 which other than being a little finicky on mags, works great.

Had a .300 black pistol that worked perfectly no problems at all.

My classmate works there.  Does that count?
