Yep!

By little brother from MN (well he's 56, but still my little brother), was down here for a shooting camp and I let him shoot my 50 for his first time.

Thank God I brought along a lot of ammo!!!

The muzzle blast from a Barrett will clear everyone for several benches away.

I've shot them. Honestly I was surprised at how manageable the recoil was. I still think a 300 win mag or a 7mm mag hits harder on the shoulder. I made the mistake of standing 4' behind and off to the left a little bit when my buddy shot - right in line with the muzzle brake. Holy hell won't ever do that again.....

I took mine to the range to zero it. After most of the people left and it was just the regulars, I asked the RO If I could put it on paper. He said "Just don't shoot the steel". OK no problem. I put the target all the way out at 25Y and shot one to check my bore sight. It was good and I now had the attention of the guys that were still there. I moved it out to 100Y and got the zero I wanted and was going to call it good.

Dudes started to meander over and ask if they could take a pic or look at it. I asked if they wanted to shoot and of course there were takers. The first guy is the assistant RO, he jumped down, fired a round and immediately turned and asked if he could shoot again at the steel at 1K. We talked him into shooting a rock on the 200Y berm. When he got up we noticed he didn't have any ear-pro Dude must be deaf. I asked another guy if he wanted a couple of shots, he was "Nah, I did a fam fire with one in Kuwait. Thanks though". After my buddy ran a few rounds though it (on the paper), the fam fire guy come up and asked if he could still shoot a couple of rounds. "You betcha!'

Surprisingly, the other couple of guys didn't want to shoot it. It was obviously not too bad to shoot, they had watched us. I assume that they were just being polite and didn't want to use my ammo. It wasn't that big of deal, we were only shooting 3-4 rds at a time. Of course, they might not have wanted to look retarded shooting a .50 at 100Y. They did take pics with it though.

They are fun to shoot.

Cool. I haven't had the pleasure of shooting one yet. Definitely on the list though.

I got to shoot an M107A in .50BMG and a CZ bolt action in .458 Lott.

The Barrett was easier on the shoulder, a steady push as opposed to a mule kick from the .458.
