I love the humor of the little ironic things in life.
My most recent gun belts are made by the Amish.

Share something ironic. Neighbor has and uses a Amish made leather iwb holster for his g19. Best I have ever seen especially for $55, skin from his cow and calf, belt loop from a old shovel and then formed by hand. On the waiting list now for 3. |

To some of 'em, those rules are pretty flexible... |

From what I've read so far, the Amish are an irony wrapped in a neckbeard. They're not anti-technology per se. They're anti-pride and anti-individual. Everything is about conformity, and resisting the temptation to stand above your friends, family and community. They also have an almost spiritual infatuation with work. They're very resistant towards anything that makes work any easier than it absolutely has to be. They're DEFINITELY against any technology that gives you (assuming you're Amish ) an edge over the rest of the community. That's the pride thing. They actively fight against it. It's why their clothes, general appearance and even their hair is so uniform. It stamps out individuality, by design.
It's a very communal thing with with them. |
