Anyone else find it difficult to work for a female? Half the time you wonder if they just want the D.

Any tips on dealing with them?

My last female supervisor was an ugly butch dyke.

I kept her happy by keeping an open can of tuna as pot pourri in the office.

I'm a male nurse and have never had any issues.....Other than females being gossipy stab in the back bitches.  Luckily my Nursing director is a male and gets that.

*Edit to say I'd never try to touch that shit even if I was married as it is "the crazy".

I've had a smoking hot female boss; big into tabata/crossfit workouts. It took a month before I could maintain a coherent thought while talking to her. That said, she was ultimately great for my career, and for the most part a good boss, but she was cray-cray in her own special way.

After a while though, she became like family, so it was easy to get along.

Edit: As far as tips, females tend to like confidence and extroverted personalities (that's a broad generalization). Despite the shame you'll likely feel afterwards, a fun 1x1 talking about feelings would be funny to hear about.

One of the best projects I've worked on had a female Project Manager and a female Tech Lead.  I'd happily work with both again.

Last boss I had was a male yet his boss was a female and he was a cunt. Thus they fired me for reporting ethic complaints and tried to hide that fact. I still got unemployment after explaining everything the the unemployment chick and she sided with me. Funny thing was she said I was not the first that said the same thing from that company for the reason I got fired because of reporting ethic complaints. Only issues was finding a new job yet now that I have found a part time and full time the funny thing is that the full time job cares about ethics and the part time which has been around since the early 1900's doesn't give a shit about ethics. The one I got fired from unethically has been around since the first land line that Bell started. The part time job one of the major department store ever built until the idiots at the top did stupid shit and now have to push appliances to stay alive.

My supervisor at my last job was a woman. Zero problems with her. More than that, she had my back when two other women in the department wanted to file complaints of sexual harassment against me. She got them to drop the idea.

And no, she didn't want "the D" -- the reason I know is because I tried to interest her and she rebuffed my advances.

I've worked for and supervised several female supervisors over my Government career.  Most were outstanding.  Hands down the ones that were insecure, ineffective or difficult to work with, were of the lesbian persuasion with male tendencies.

I can also say the same for the male homosexuals that had that "fierce"attitude. Again insecure, ineffective,or difficult to work with.

I had 6 women bosses in 40 years of work.   One came in and said I don't know a damn thing that goes on here I hope you can teach me.  She was a very good.  Another one spent 20 yrs in the army before she start where I worked. She was good no problems.  The next one was a bitch.  She said where everyone could hear"I want to write some one up, I want to suspend someone and I want to fire someone.  It will look good on my record.  Another one was good but was crazier than a loon.  Some times you had to teller that she was at work and could not act that way.  The last 2 were OK.

I had two bosses that were women when I worked in sales at Macys. They both were really big bitches. One tried calling me into work the day after Christmas, on Christmas day because she was always fucking the schedule up. She also insisted on working in silence, except when one of the lower managers under her who was also a woman would bring up their kids, then both would stop working, and stand around talking about their respective shit kickers while everyone else was forced to work in silence, and listen to the dribble.

The second was really annoying and on a power trip of epic proportions. I do not know for the life of me, how she became a manager of anything let along the second most profitable department next to fine jewelry. I had worked my way up from a seasonal job price flexing to a full time job doing it. From there, I worked the minimum amount of time before I could move up and take the sales exam (this was the stupidest way of doing things in my opinion). So I start in the home store, and am just killing it there, beating my minimum sales quota by 200% each day so they bump me to the only other commission sales position they had. Woman's shoes, where I had not a clue about a thing but as a co worker said, I could sell ice to an Eskimo. So I'm pretty stoked about the new job, the bonus pay for simply selling shit, and start learning the ropes from the women who work there already (I was one of two guys who worked this department) and learn quick. I learned real fast how to sell women shoes (they pretty much sell themselves, but having a guy telling some broad "ya your husband is going to love these shoes, and "my wife absolutely loves this pair, says they are the most comfortable shoes ever" made it a lot easier. I also went above and beyond for my customers, and developed a set of about 30-40 regulars who would only come in when I was working, and ask for my schedule because I would remember them, and always greet them at the door and ask "how was that trip you were going to take" "Did you like those shoes you got last time" and so on. I would hunt down shoes that were on clearance, and if one of the pair was missing (happened a lot because of the system they used to clearance shoes) I would make a note, take their name and in my free time would look in the stock room for the other shoe, and when I found it would call and let them know I had found it, Bitches love a sale. Well, it didn't take long, and my sales rate was up about 350% , and my co -workers started to get jealous, and when I was off, would end up taking my commission by not giving me credit on the sale. I complained, and that ruffled my managers feathers a lot. (She was one of the ones doing it the most apparently, because she too had a sales quota to make).

Even though I was the number one sales person in my department, and for several months the entire store, this bitch would come in, take my time that I would typically use to meet and greet the customers to take me in the back "To practice my sales technique on her" She would even send me home with "homework" she printed out about the newest bullshit shoes and so on, and then quiz me on the fucking material. I despised this bull-shit, especially since I was the best fucking salesman in her fucking department. I played along with her little power trip, even though I knew I was the only one suffering this inhumane form of torture because at the time I needed the money, and the extra pay from commission was nice.

I also had to come in first, and open the section of the store and RFID all the inventory every morning by myself, which I also found out I was the only one who had to do this. The computers Macy's uses are about 20 years old, and when I would open the store, they were all set to restart at the exact same time. So I 99% of the time was not able to clock in because the restart would take about 10 minutes. The remedy to this, is every day you had to get a time card correction sheet and submit it to the HR department. After a long day on your feet, with this psycho bitch's bullshit quiz's to top it off, 99% of the time I would forget to do the time card. You are assigned points, and if you run out of points you are fired. Every "late clock in" you lose half a point. The only way to GAIN half a point was to work the overnight inventory and holidays. You could not have more then 5 points, and after that they were turned into "macy's cash" to spend on merchandise in the store. So every morning, when the computers would be restarting as I walked in the door, and I went about RFID tagging all the merch I would lose a half a poinr for being "late" unless I fixed my time card and got her to sign it. No one else could sign it but her. She got off before me, forcing me to do it the next morning. I had never been actually late, and was eventually fired because I ran out of points. The security guy who ran the cameras, said he would vouch for me that I was in fact there on time, but the process involved mediation, and a rehire at at a loss of pay. Needless to say, I said fuck that bullshit and went back to work doing Land surveying where I make 3x what I did there. Long story short, fuck Macy's and everything they stand for. I hope the Macy's day parade balloon crashes into a building, and cost's them millions.

The absolute worst manager I have ever had was a woman.

The best, most pleasant and professional manager I have ever had was a woman.

The former taught me a very valuable lesson:  few things hurt so much as a person who pretended to befriend you, had you teach them their job and to do large chunks of their work *cough diversity cough* only to have them stab you in the back and slander/libel you to your superiors and try to get you terminated for cause (thank God I keep copious, detailed records).

The latter taught me that even a depressing, soul sucking job can be bearable if you have the right team and support staff.

I've been lucky and have never had a female supervisor in all my 19 years at this job. We did a have a female general supervisor, and she was a total cunt, but I never had to report to her directly.

I can understand having women call the shots in a womanly line of work, such as working in an office or whatnot, but women have no place in the manufacturing and contruction industries.

I work with several females in higher positions than me.

I have found that those in supervisory roles tend to take a motherly approach to their crew and will back you up 100% if you're right.

Those in non supervisory roles will toss you under the bus, steal your ideas, and generally want to use you/and or their female status to get to their next promotion.

That's not all women in those positions, but a generalization.

I've had several excellent female supervisors, and a couple of duds.
I've had several excellent male supervisors, and a couple of duds.

The best supervisors - and employees, for that matter - are the ones that don't make gender an issue either way.  Same goes for race.

We'll never have true gender/age/race equality until we stop emphasizing the lines that delineate and categorize them.

No.  I have a female supervisor right now, and compared to the complete ASSHOLE male who she replaced (because we voted him out), she is fantastic.

In fact the best run company I ever worked for (back in my radio days), my top supervisor was a woman.  I don't this the company was great because of her, but she sure as hell did not degrade it.
