My daughter let Windows 10 install on my computer while I was at the NRA Convention...
Since then, I am getting much slower speeds. I had all kinds of processes and things blocked/stopped on Win 8, but now have no idea what to turn off. Also, it will NOT let me end a shit-ton of stuff....CORTANA and Microsoft Office popup? HELP!!!!!! |

Well, let's attack it one at a time. To turn off Cortana - From the desktop, right click on the lower left Windows icon and click on Search, this will bring up the search pane. Then click on the 'gear' and turn off Cortana. It still runs in the background. You can't stop it. There's a couple ways that claim to but Win 10 will just restart it sooner or later. There is a load of crap you can uninstall one way or another. I got rid of a bunch. |

To stop your computer from acting like a 'torrent' for updates. Go to settings then click on Update&Security, then Windows Update/Advanced Options/Choose How Updates Are Delivered and then turn off the switch that allows your PC to send out parts of the Windows Updates to other computers/devices. |
